Beautiful place to shop for local handloom n handicraft
Oct 2020 • Friends
I got to know about this place from a friend of mine, & I went to check out their wares in between the jungle safaris. & I ended up buying quite a lot of stuff for friends n family. This one's a definite must visit. Their handicraft items are superb and their clothes are so good n so reasonable that u wouldn't come out of it without buying at least one item of clothing.

Quality shopping and for a cause
Jan 2020 • Friends
We visited twice and bought a range of goods. No bartering... fixed prices. Djuwalla showed us around and explained the history of this women's coop. Engaged with the women which was nice. If you want the cheapest, are not too fussed about quality or cause-based shopping (which we're not sometimes) then this probably won't suit your needs. However, we found the quality very good and prices reasonable and the cause (supporting women's economic interdependence) ticked all our boxes. After our first visit we were told by locals that it was fake etc but that's the local competition trying to get you to use them. After more research and questioning them we were sure they are legit and did more shopping. The other businesses advertising as "local women's craft" are private businesses.

Thanks Dodd F for spending your time and money at Dastkar Ranthambhore. Your purchases help us get more work to the local women. Thus helping our mission to empower women and get them economic independence. Warm regards, Ujwala

Well worth a visit
Apr 2019
Dastkar a craft enterprise run by a NGO is captivating. We visited it to check out block printing for which Rajasthan is famed, and were treated to a feast of color and well-made artifacts.Women demonstrated the art of block printing and then took us around the shop.Shawls, kurtas, bedspreads, household linen, birds of all hues - all reasonably priced and in vibrant tints. If in Ranthambore, this is truly worth a visit.

A place to visit and buy to help the local community
Oct 2018 • Couples
It is a place to visit not only to buy handicrafts but also to see how the local community is involved. We went on a Sunday morning and the shop was open but it was a holiday for the workers. But we visited the factory setup as well as the shops and bought some interesting handicrafts.

Expensive but neat work by Women
May 2018 • Family
There are local women employed to do bock printing , thread work , beautiful stuffed birds , cloth bead necklace etc.We went to Donk but their work is given to women at there home hence neatness is lacking. We bought from dastakar beads necklace, purse (in hindi of tat waste cement cover, a material which will not get wet ), key chains and billing proper, charging MRP .

Donk is expensive too ,I bought (Toran)for entrance gate ,but in billing charging GST extra extra.

Quality and Mission
Dec 2017 • Family
I totally get that Dastkar is more expensive than other places. When we visited, we were talking with the coordinator and she acknowledged that their prices are higher than other places and that some people say Dastkar is pricing only for the foreign tourist market. She noted (I'm paraphrasing now) "it's what we calculate to be a fair price given the labor and other costs that go into making the items." That rang true for me given that they dye the fabric, block print it, machine sew, and then often hand stitch on top of that.

So I would say if low cost is the most important thing to you, this is not your place. However, if you care about quality, this is a good place -- things are well-made and of nicer quality fabrics than we saw at most markets or shops. If you care about mission, then this is definitely a good place for you; you are supporting not only employment (but lots of places hire out piece work to women), but also training, leadership development, and health care and health education.
