My husband and I came here for the day. It's about. 2.5 hour drive from Udaipur one way. We did it by private taxi. We had to park some way away from the entrance due to this being a single track road and it was a fair walk to the entrance. Once inside you can see the longest Fort wall... More

Kumbhalgarh is a rare and hidden gem in the Mewar region. The fort has longest wall of 36 km after great wall of China. The fort was built in 15th century by Rana Kumbha, and is also the place of birth of Maharana Pratap. This week invincible fort suffered various failed attacks by Khilji and Mughal rulers. The road to... More

This impregnable fort, atop a great mountain, with a wall that in places, could accommodate 6 riders, was built by the Mewar in the 15th century. The walls can be partially seen from the top and go for 22 miles. The view of the fort, palaces and temples is breathtaking , seen from the 19th century addition , the Badal... More

It’s unjust if one do not visit Kumbhalgarh Fort. People tend to compare Chittaurgarh Fort and Kumbhalgarh Fort; but I find both are magnificent in their own merit. Get a guide before entering and you’ll be presented with enthralling stories from the past: the anecdotes of courage, bravery and sacrifice. Having the second longest wall (after The Great Wall of... I was fascinated by Kumbhalgarh Fort as I has read a lot about it. The trip to the fort lived up to the expectations. We walked the length of the walls (second longest wall after the Great Wall of China) and had panoramic views of the surroundings. We then climbed our way to the top to Badal Mahal and beyond.... Well. I was short of places to visit near udaipur and hence choose to visit this from Udiapur on a bike. 2 bikes and 4 of us - It was good fun. Had a long ride. Roads are overall well except few places in between. The fort is close to 70KMs from Udiapur. If you start from Udaipur, one road... More

I had been wanting to visit this fort for years, from the first time I saw a poster of it in Udaipur. However, renting a taxi as a solo traveler was outside my budget, and I couldn't find others to share the taxi during my timeframe. Though a combined daytrip to Ranakpur and Kumbhalghar from Udaipur is a good option,... More

After travelling with the family for a month or so we felt that this was the best Fort we had visited. The views are nothing short of spectacular. Definitely worth a visit
