The fort is built by Rana Kumbha the kind who started the Mewar dynasty. It has a great styling and as they say it was never captured in history.

Good place with lot of stories and historical facts all around. This place with such a rich history could have been better if managed properly. Only a part of the fort is open for visitors, rest is in ruins and there is no proper maintenance to preserve the rich heritage. If govt restore the entire 36 km wall and open... More

Stay some time at the majestic fort. Yes it is a difficult trek...but you lost in time as you climb the majestic fort who stands head up even today. If you are unable to trek the fort still visit the fort marvel the beauty from outside. You can walk across the magnificent fortification wall, which comes second to the great... More

We started from.udaipur at 730 n reached there before 10...less crowded.. Later time cars are stopped at a distance and lot of rush..fort looked beautiful from outside...climb to d top is exhausting and avoidable since there is nothing much inside fort worth seeing other than d view of city..its very long and tiring climb to d top... Best to reach there by 4 PM to avoid the Parking issues and also to catch up with the Light & Sound Show at 6.30 PM. Requires lot of walking uphill to the fort so be ready!

To get to Kumbhalgarh is a long drive. The roads through the Aravalli Hills are narrow so it takes 30min to get 20km. I kid you not. It is less touristy and no hustlers so I makes for a calm and hassle free afternoon but I don't think the time cost is worth the trek. The most interesting thing is... More

second largest wall formations after great wall of china, this huge fort is totally built amidst the might aravali range. hardly looks like a rajasthan area since its covered with dense green forest along with good wildlife. leopard safari is also done in the nearby forest. the palaces atop the fort were tastefully designed for erstwhile rulers. Covering a radius... More

we only stopped here to see the Jain temple so this came as a major surprise. we first saw it lit up the night before we climbed to the top. the wall is pretty impressive with great views but like one traveler said 'there wasn't much to see in terms of embellishments."

One of the best fort in India. Well maintained and clean. The view is scenic. You have 360 degree view of the area. Steps are not very steep which helps kids to go along easily.
