This was a terrific experience! Lavi and her husband Sohel went above and beyond to make us feel at home! We made the finest local Indian cuisine with two people who had a great knowledge base and great sense of humor. I would highly recommend for anyone to do this, it is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. Thank you so much Lavi and Sohel!…

We had a great time learning to cook Indian food with Lavi, ably assisted by her husband. It was kind of a combined cooking class/demonstration, but we did get our hands dirty with chopping and stirring, and we learnt a lot from watching the experts too. Our kids (aged 10 and 12) had a great time too, apart from when Lavi kept telling them that now they know how to cook, they can cook for their parents when they get home (yeah, right 😊). We cooked chai, pakoras, palak paneer, dal, chapatis and more – so much food we didn’t have a hope of eating it all, delicious though it was. Lavi also gave us a lot of useful information about ingredients, particularly the various spices we used, and tips to make our curries back home taste more authentic. She also emailed us recipes of all the dishes we’d learnt and many more. A relaxed and enjoyable evening that I would thoroughly recommend to any family visiting Jodhpur – or anyone else who’d like to learn the secrets of Rajasthani cuisine.…

Definitely a highlight of my trip to India, so much fun. Me and 2 friends learnt loads about dishes we had been enjoying so much on our trip: palak paneer, gobhi aloo, lentil dal, chapatti and more! Lavi is a great teacher and a lovely person.

We messaged Lavi in the morning asking for a cooking class at lunch time , she was very flexible and quick to respond. Her husband came to pick us up and take her to their house. As well as learning how to cook some amazing Indian foods, with a menu tailored to our interests, we spend time getting to know Lavi and family which we really enjoyed. The good itself was amazing and Lavi is a great teacher, with impeccably good English. Would highly recommend to everyone- amazing experience. …

We are on our honeymoon and found Lavi’s cooking class on tripadvisor.... one of the best things we have done in India so far! Lavi (and her husband Sohel) are so so friendly and genuine and really fun people to learn from. Lavi asked what we wanted to make (vege only) and we asked for Black Dahl and something with baby aubergine and we got this and so much more. Class was for 2 hours but we were there for 4 hours chatting to Lavi and eating SO MUCH food for lunch. You do the cooking in the kitchen of the family hotel and see how that operates too. It’s a family operation and a private class rather than a professional kitchen but this made it even more special for us and we would recommend to anyone! It’s not a tourist trap, Lavi does it for fun and it’s well priced. Just email her and she’ll get back very quickly too! …
