No doubt they have huge collection as visible in the photos. But staff seems indifferent to the visitors.
The collection mostly items rejected by others. The collection consists mainly utensils, nutcracker, locks these items do not necessarily have value for tourist. But still if you have time do visit. If you have tight schedule you may skip it.

After seeing the great reviews of this place by other bloggers, nd travelers , we visited this place. But the person showing us around was very reluctant. He kept on saying the shop would close at 6 though we had half an hr. He was just walking right behind us to keep an eye but hardly showed any interest in showing us around. It seemed like we were a hassle to him

Half of the shop was locked and he didn't offer to show.

When we choose our items and the bill was of 850 rs, he said it's such a small amount and anyways it's our closing time, pay in cash. when we insisted on paying by card he said he will have to give GST then. He refused to give us bill upfront.

Horrible experience from such a renowned govt recognised export house

Lalji was the best place to shop for an array of beautiful and reasonably priced items during our travels in Rajasthan. Wish we were able to buy more! (Our brass vase and chopati bowl look beautiful back home, but regret not buying the miniature). The good people working don't push anything from their mind-blowing selection on you. Much better than any bazaar we visited. Wholeheartedly recommend and can't wait to visit again one day!

I have been coming to this antique and handicraft warehouse for 25 years.
BRING cash and take lots of time. This place has incredible Varma lithographs and a great place to shop. Knowing that you aren't being ripped off and harassed. You need time to go through all the antiques. Two floors of endless options.

Its hard to know where to begin but you can spend hours fossicking in the dusty aisles of Lalji Handicrafts and know you are going to find something beautiful. Textiles, paintings, objets, its a cornucopia of the antique, the old and the relatively new and its family owners are exceptionally knowledgeable in the trade. The prices are fair and pieces are wrapped carefully to facilitate easy shipping. Expect the unexpected when you visit, just dive in as you never know what you’ll find.

We were told about this shop by the front desk staff at our hotel... we expected a small shop, typical of India, with walls and cabinets stuffed with overpriced antiques from years gone by. What we found was a massive building, the size of an IKEA store jammed with all sorts of things from old pens to complete doorway assemblies, sword handles to life-size statues of various gods revered in this country. This was just like the massive antique malls we found in the USA along some of the interstate highways. When we thought we’d seen it all, one of the staff flicked a light on and there was another massive room with things to see... eventually we got to the end, after a couple hours, and the staff following us around informed us that “this is just 20 percent” of what they have... “there is a big warehouse ten kilometres away... “. So if you want to do some no-stress antique shopping in India check out Lalji Handicrafts in Jodhpur... just ask a tuktuk driver... most know where it is.

This is THE best place to buy antiques in the whole of India and a MUST visit if you're in Jodhpur. The owners have a great eye for buying beautiful pieces and they are honest and fair in their pricing.
