    Fascinating miniatures and beautiful souls
We stopped at the shop of Vittorio (well, the Italian adaptation of the professor’s name :) ) upon suggestion of our guide and found such a nice souls and beautiful arts. Inside the shop there are thousands of different type of handmade miniatures done by students and teachers, all beautiful, and part of the paid price goes to the school run by the professor. Artists from all over the world can come and learn miniature painting for free at their school. If you visit Jodhpur definitely stop by and make sure to ask the professor to draw something for you on a lentil :)

    Educational
I took a miniature painting class for +/- 3 hours and it was a blast! You learn to appreciate the craft in a whole different way. Vijay and his son Tinku are absolutely lovely and pass the knowledge in an engaging way. Fun fact, Vijay the owner, is also known in the world as the lentil man 😄 Look it up!

A warm welcome, amazing talent and generous spirit.
What a special place! Beautiful, exquisite paintings and no matter your budget, you will be able to find one (or more) that you can afford to buy, and know you are supporting the local community. And what a wonderful thing to run a school and a business together. We enjoyed the company of Vijay and Pimtu who were both very hospitable and kind. We returned a number of times to see them and were warmly welcomed every time. Thank you so much, Vijay and Pimtu.

    Great painting lesson
This was suitable for a complete beginner and an experienced painter. Did it with my sister and we both completed traditional miniature paintings. The lesson was with the owner’s son who was very patient. The lesson was 3-4 hours and we built the paintings up in stages. It was very interesting. Since Covid they now charge £10 per person. It was just the 2 of us. We went to the shop and agreed a time to come back for the lesson so it was easy to arrange.

Must visit for all art lovers!
If there's one word it would be 'enamored'! Must visit spot for all those who love art. Do look out for some old letters over which they have painted beautifully. Sir was kind enough to have shown his painting skills on a lentil seed. Mr. Vijay Prajapt is a very talented artist.

A genuine and charming art school!
Stumbled upon this small shop/art school when we wondered around in the city and got greeted warmly by Vijay aka Lentil Man. He proudly showed us his skills in miniature drawing on a lentil (hence his nickname). It was really impressive and it got us talking more about their art school, the skills of miniature painting and much more! Such a genuine talk and welcoming environment! I really recommend dropping by if you are into art!

    A fantastic learning experience
Checking out Umaid Heritage Art School and its comprehensive and beautiful library of Rajasthani miniature works was a fascinating experience. Interaction with Mr Vijay Prajapat on two separate days made my Jodhpur trip extra special and unforgettable. The free art lesson he offered over a span of 2 hrs along with seeking knowledge about various facets of miniature paintings was awesome. I wish Mr Vijay's mission all the success.

We spent a fabulous afternoon at this lovely place. Tinku, Vijay and Pushkar were so generous with their time and expertise.
In three hours we had all painted masterpieces 😄.
Highly recommend, and there was no pressure to buy other pieces, although they were extremely beautiful and well priced.
Also, they support female students from neighboring villages who aren’t allowed to leave the house to work - they teach them to paint and sell their work here.
What a gem this place is!
I am looking forward to coming back.

Amazing experience. The whole family loved it. Could have spent longer here, even with young kids.

The teachers were engaging, helpful, patient and had great English. The children (and adults) enjoyed every minute.

A quieter area of the city centre was a bonus too.

A must do experience while in Jodhpur.
