The Palace of flowers is a magnificent 18th century chamber built by Maharaja Abhay Singh as a hall of private audience. The ceiling is in gold and mirror. This makes it special due to reflections created by the mirrors. The walls apparently still have painting from the 19th century - they must have made of good quality the. The paintings show various moods of the Indian classical styles, portraits and various goddesses.

With its delicate colours, golden sheen, ornate ceiling and stained glass windows and screens, the Phool Mahal is undoubtedly the grandest period room in Mehrangarh.

While inside the Fort, one come accross several private rooms of the royal family..this Phool mahal is the most beautiful till date undoubtedly..

Phool Mahal (Flower Palace) is one of the most opulent and eminent period rooms in the Mehrangarh Fort. Visitors come here to catch a glimpse of the extravagant lifestyle of the erstwhile rulers. Built by Maharaja Abhaya Singh in the 18th century, it served as a pleasure room for female dancers during his reign.

This room is beautifully decorated with its ceiling boasting of rich filigree of gold - plundered from Gujarat after the king's triumph over Sarbuland Khan, a Mughal Governor. At present, the room comprises a rare collection of paintings, royal portraits and the famous raga mala paintings.

The quarters of the Royalty are wonderfully sculpted and retained. The glass ceiling that enhances the natural lighting is good to behold.
