Mehrangarh Fort is the most clean and best maintained monument in India visited so far by me..you get a guide easily for 300/- INR and entry for Indians is 100/-INR.There is a lift which goes halfway and charged Rs.40/-per person for one way.makes sense to take this while going up...one doesn't get tired. The view of the blue city from... More

Our first real Indian fort and definitely a favourite . Lots of wonderful things to see inside, and enjoyed a turban tying display specially put on for us. Excellent museum shop with quality products.

Definitely get the audio tour. This was one of the best forts we saw, with a very informative audio tour and interesting museum. It was also clean with obvious ongoing maintenance (not a given in India).

I'm sure the people of Jodhpur are very proud to have this magnificent piece of history on their doorstep. The earliest part of the structure dates back to medieval times and houses relics from all eras of its habitation. The audio tour is excellent and paints a picture of feudal life over the centuries. Each room was even more splendid... More

This is a majestic fort and demands a few hours if you really want to enjoy everything that it has to offer. We even had dinner inside the fort - though that experience was a bit of a letdown.
