This is as authentic and as rustic Rajasthani experience as it can get. Mr Pushpendra Singh has an amazing local knowledge and great spotting skills. We spotted 3 groups of blackbucks and chinkaras. Open jeep added to the charm. Put loads sunscreen. Carry water and keep yourself hydrated at all time. The heat can be unbearable.
The villagers were warm and the food in their house is one of the best Rajasthani food We ever had.
This is a must do activity. It could easily turn out to be a lifetime memory. It surely did for us.

First of all loved the jeep which Pushpendra singh ji drove us in. Got to watch black bucks, chinkaras, lots and lots of beautiful peacocks. The village home was so nice and serene. The owner was very hospitable and served us nice cup of tea. I wish if they could serve us something cold too as per the weather. Watched few of the migratory birds. Tried my hand on pottery making on special request. It was truely memorable experience and took us back to our roots of nature and simplicity.

Pushpendra ji gave us perfect safari experience. We got the pure Rajasthani feel and the authentic villages of Rajasthan. Everything in this trip was perfect. The Bishnoi village , the migrated birds, the black buck safari and the local craftsman. Do book you safaris with the amazing person.

We stayed in Radisson jodhpur and were suggested this Jodhpur village safari by our friends who visited this place last month. They shared their memories about this wonderful safari and I must say we are glad we booked this one post their suggestion.

The process was easy. We requested the staff and they helped us with the booking. We were picked up from the hotel at 9 am in their amazing modified Thar.

After a drive of roughly 15 minutes we entered the village of these nature and animal loving people 'Bishnoi's'. Spotted around hundreds of peacocks, many deer, blue bulls and guess what we were also lucky enough to spot the black buck who is worshipped by these Bishnoi's. We also saw the migratory Siberian cranes, kingfisher, indian roller, egrets during the village safari.

And now comes the best part where we halted at a local villager's house to enjoy their hospitality and understand their lifestyle. We were welcomed with so much love. They showed us the inside of their beautiful house, the cow dung flooring inside , the hand flour grinder ,the opium ceremony. We loved petting their cattle and enjoyed the chulha tea.

And now we headed towards two lakes where we spotted birds again and ended our safari by visiting the local arts and crafts shop. Tried our hands at pottery and bought a few gifts for friends back home. We were also taken to a local hand weaving shop where we learnt how the hand loom worked.

Post that we were dropped back to the hotel. We came back filled with love and hospitality of the local people of the village.. I totally recommend this village safari.. A big thanks to Pushpendra ji who drove us to this village and took us to these beautiful people. He was so humble and explained us so beautifully.

One of the best safari, it’s very unique. Our guide was the head of the safari and he was very well mannered, humble and patient with us.They will take u to one of the Bishnoi villager’s house, where they’ll show u old stuffs and how people live in villages. Also it includes black deer and unique species of bird siting, the process of making durry ( u can even buy ), block printing, pot making, etc.

Our so-called safari in a Bishnoi village was bought at the last minute. We were in a jeep with two other people (therefore four travelers in all): a small group, therefore restful.
The tour lasted an entire morning (we were back in Jodhpur at lunchtime), but as we left early, we had some time to spare.
We spent most of our time not in a real village, but in a Bishnoi peasant house. In accordance with what we knew about this group, we saw animals go around the house freely, not at all intimidated by people. Indeed we have seen very few mammals, but many birds, who came to look for food almost in our hands.
We visited the kitchen and other rooms of the house, then we witnessed the opium preparation by the dean of the family, a nice elderly man dressed all-white as their custom requires.
On the way back we stopped at a real village, where we witnessed the work of a potter with a lathe, and a weaving action. Of course it was possible to shop, but we didn't.
Although obviously this "safari" is a standardized experience, it was nevertheless the way for us to interact with local families; which we had not experienced on our trip to India until then.

We did a last minute booking of the safari but luckily got it. The safari vehicle picked us from our hotel & dropped us back to the restaurant where we asked the driver to.

He first took us to the Bishnoi village where we met a traditional Bishnoi family, saw their house, & participated in their opium ceremony. We heard stories from our guide about the Bishnoi's love for animals.

We then headed out to see wildlife & weren't disappointed - peacocks, antelopes, demoiselle cranes, green winged teals, black winged stilts, chinkaras, green bee eaters, red wattled lapwings, chousinghas, black bucks, Eurasian collared doves, & Indian rollers.

Our driver/ guide, in fact, scouted the areas completely till we got a good sighting of the black buck. We highly recommend this safari.

Even if I was apprehensive about doing a tour like this (I did not want to intrude on the villager's life with my camera and tourist attire) I do not regret one bit choosing to do it.
My guide was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and tailored the tour to my need. I never felt any pressure to buy anything and learned a lot about rural areas' life, and India in general. I highly recommend it!

I was apprehensive about doing a tour of the Bishnoi villages as I was conscious of lots of tourists being bused in to intrude on rural life. It isn’t like that at all, the families of the different crafts are really welcoming and you can take pictures without feeling you are being intrusive. We were the only ones there at each place too so didn’t feel like it was a tourist attraction per se.
The jeep is a fun way to travel and our driver was excellent in making the ride as smooth as possible down the bumpy roads.
You get to see the different crafts and there is an opportunity to buy but there is no pressure put on you at all.
We saw on a half day tour, potters, weavers, a Bishnoi homestead with opium ceremony.
There are toilets available and we were offered chai at each place.
Really different experience and would highly recommend it.
