About
Sambhali Boutique showcases clothes, handicrafts and accessories produced by the women graduates from the Sewing Centre within the Sambhali Trust, a non-profit organisation aimed at empowering the women of Rajasthan. Located in the heart of Jodhpur, the boutique offers a variety of both Indian and Western-style garments, accessories and homeware, ideal to take home for souvenirs or just a treat for yourself to remind you of time spent in Jodhpur. Our international volunteers have brought a wealth of experience to our sewing centres, ensuring exceptional quality is met in all of our products. Everything is beautifully made and helps to support a good cause. The man in the shop explained to us about the trust and was not pushy at all. Everything had prices on it so no need to haggle.

This little place upskills local women in various trades and education to empower them to start their own enterprise and generate their own independent income. They have some quality handicrafts that make great and very thoughtful gifts for friends and family back home. There are also opportunities to visit the workhouse itself and meet the women and even teach some basic English or maths. Make this your good deed for the day :)

This store had a small selection of cute handmade wares and accessories (perfect as gifts for friends and family). Most importantly, it was a wonderful initiative, supporting disadvantaged women and girls by proving them with education and skills to support themselves. The gentleman in the store was lovely and explained everything about the initiative to us so well. Thank you!

Boutique is run by an org that supports women. And that's the only reason I bought a few items. But there is hardly anything unique and it's overpriced

Whenever I am in Jodhpur, I make sure that I visit Sambhali Boutique and the NGO itself as well. All products are perfect as a small gift for your loved ones at home and represent India's beautiful colours and talents. At the NGO, you can see how the women make everything, talk to them and get to know them a bit. It's more than just a shop, there are so many stories behind it. I recommend it to every tourist traveling in India who wants to see something else besides all the usual sights, etc.!

As a volunteer of Sambhali Trust, I have visited the Boutique many times myself.
The Boutque sells many colourful kurtas in different sizes as well as more unique goods such as Indian Christmas decorations, nice rucksacks or even textile pencil cases.
Many textiles have the traditional Jodhpur blockprint which is a real eye catcher.
Although the prices might be higher than other jobs, the money goes to the Sambhali seamstresses who work 7 hours a day.
If one wants to get to know the person and the culture behind the product the Sambhali Boutique is a very enriching place.

When you go to the Sambhali Boutique, you can already see by the outside that this is not just a normal store. Despite the products being of a great quality, each item has a name on it, explaining which women actually made it. So you’re not just buying some product made in China. You’re buying a product made by that one women from first to last stitch. They sell all kinds of things which are all unique but the high quality stays the same for each product. I love this store and thank you for the small dive in, in what the NGO Sambhali Trust does. It’s great work!

During my time in India I was able to visit this beautiful shop near the clock tower...
The products the women make are very original, so different that you can choose from a great variability of things - from clothes over bags to decorational animals - and they all are so pretty! I could hardly decide which ones to buy for myself or for relatives as a gift from my stay in India!

Will definitely come back to buy more when I have the chance! :)

When in Jodhpur, make sure you visit this organization and bring back some gifts from their boutique. Each item is well made,by hand (embroidery and sewing). Each is unique and made by a special women helped by the NGO( her name is on the tag). The best part is that you can follow up on their web site and blog and read a out each women!I enjoyed bringing those gifts to friends and family and they loved going on the site!

Not only this place is absolutely perfect and located in the beating heart of Jodhpur but it is the right boutique to do your souvenir shopping. Sambhali works to empower local women and families, the work you buy help them be independant and finance the many actions of the Trust, if you go on sundays you can meet volunteers from all over the world that come to help.
If you wanna know more you can swing by the guest house and everyone there will be ready to greet you and take you visit the place where the magic happens!

I can only recommend the boutique and the trust as a MUST in the blue city.
