The lake is beautiful and the boating time in the evening was great. My kids had fun and it's a good family place in Jaisalmer

Amazing susnset boating
Oct 2021
I will recommend a boating ride at Gadisar lake for memorable sunset view . The lake was full of water due to ample rain this year and surrounding heritage structures are well maintained.

great ride
Sep 2021
We had an amazing time. its a serene lake not far from the centre of Jaisalmer. You get peddle boats, normal boats to get around the lake. we chose normal boats. if I remember correctly, for the two of us we paid around 1200. It was a half an hour boat ride, which got extended to 45 minutes. The views of the surrounding architectures from the lake are amazing with all the cenotaphs gracefully increasing the visuals. We went around 4.30 pm and finished our ride just before the sunset. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Even those with mobility issues would not have any problem visiting the place. There are couple of coffee shops in one of the corners of the lake, which again give a different on shore perspective of the lake. Do spend at least couple of hours in and around the lake, specially during the sunset.

A fine outdoor experience with historical build structures and reflection of sun light on water waves
Mar 2021
One of the fine outdoor activity /picnic spot in Jaisalmer.

By foot pathway travel in side of lake and you will enjoy the boat ride .

Best time to visit here is in morning and evening .

Ticket- Only for vehicle parking and for boat riding . For boat riding must be bargain and also must be sure that how far away ride path and how much time will ride.
You can easily visit here via cab or auto or taxi

Must Be- proper shoes or rubber footwear , water bottle , umbrella /hat .

Must visit near by historical build structure near by side area .

Too much bagger near by area so must avoid them in gentle way.

When you go to visit Gadsisar Lake, the first thing you notice is the gate of Tillan, which welcomes you to the beautiful surroundings of the lake. It is carved on rich yellow sandstone which serves as a majestic attractive gateway to Gadsisar Lake.

Nice Lake

The ambience is good. You can simply sit idle and relax or do boating here. There are a few structures within the lake. Nice place to spend some time in the evening.

Gadisar Lake
Mar 2021
Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer built by the founder of Jaisalmer King Rawal. Jaiswal in 1156 AD and later rebuilt by Gadsi Singh around 1367 AD and named Gadisar lake. This lake was the only source of driniking water for Jaisalmer and there are many chattris and shrines of Hindu God's and Godesses on the lake.In the modern era Gadisar Lake receives water from the Indira Gandhi canal and hence never dries during peak summer months. This lake resembles a oasis in the midst of the Thar Desert and attracts aquatic birds in winter . Excellent for bird watching , boating as well as observing Sunrise and sunset. There is a beautiful gateway built by a Royal Countesan named Tillon and called " Tillon ki Pol"..
