Real Men Dessert Safari Camp

We went to Jaisalmer just for the Dessert safari. We were told we could go there and book our tents and we would get our deals at much lesser price. But since we were group of ladies we were skeptical about it. So the property manager at Jodhpur suggested this place. I called Mr.Sawai. We were late and we desperately wanted to reach early to watch sunset. Mr. Sawai kept track of us from the time we started and made sure we reach on time. He waited for us 10kms before Jaisalmer and guided us the right road so that we were not lost and we wasted time on searching. He also asked a Jeep to stand at the deviation point so that we do not miss the hotel. The hospitality was good and they took us to the sunset point in their jeep. We were welcomed back by local Rajasthani customs. We refreshed and we headed to the common area where snacks was served and there was local Rajasthani cultural music comprising of songs and dance. It was good though the length could have been little shorter as the cold winds were harsh in the night. Good dinner was served. The tent was warm and cosy. We had hot water. And next day morning after bf we went for camel Safari. The people were good and patient whenever we took pics. Overall it was a good experience.

A beautiful night.

These men are a great a team to work with. Sawai Singh, the man in-charge greated well on arrival, is quite helpful and forthcoming to the guests. Hospitality that he showed is very well appreciated. The other guys, right from our jeep driver to the desert to men taking us onbthe camel safari, all of them were very polite, respectful and jovial.

The old man, Abhay Singh sung songs in almost every language as there were tourists from a varied countries. They jammed well, made the night to be cherished for long.

The food, the tea and the stars all were a perfect moment.

Magical experience!

I highly recommend the 2 night safari, which gives plenty of time to go deep into the desert, ride the camels & visit a local village. The camels through this company are well treated which we were very glad to see. Our guide Abhey Baba was such a beautiful soul & having grown up in the desert knew a lot about the area. We were provided with warm blankets at night to keep out the cold, a huge amount of food at each meal & a lovely bonfire each night to relax by. We loved every bit of our experience!

Great trip with my kids!

Great experience with Real Deserr Man! Timely pickup from our hotel, friendly and courteous drivers also double as guides and give interesting local information. The camel ride to the sand dunes was so enjoyable for me and my kids. The buffet dinner and Rajasthani folk singers/dancers were an absolute delight! The tents were clean and comfy......the toilet was super clean too. Thanks so much to Sawai Singh (owner) who was always in communication with me via WhatsApp. Even when I made an error on my booking dates, he promptly fixed it without any issues. Would definitely recommend this to all 😃👍🏼

Great experience! I would totally recommend this safari to foreigner.

I would totally recommend this safari to foreigner. The best part was the trational rajasthani performace. The dance was proffessional and the band was good. There is a special stage made only for the show and we could enjoy alcohol while watching the show. There are a lot of staffs and they are all kind and innocent. My driver and guide RC and all other staffs were kind. And what I liked a lot is that we didnt have to be bothered with the local people asking for more money or so. Food was good and camel safari was short! People say 2 hrs camel riding is too painful. Wonderful night. Great service, great experience

We did the “2 Nights New Year Package with Desert Safari Tour” and had a wonderful time. An awesome desert trip

It’s really an awesome desert trip,everything is very good including the view, the sunset, the camels, the food and the culture music & dance.

What’s more, the best part is the people of this team. They gimme pick up from the train station very early in the morning at 6 and a room to fresh, that’s all for free.

It’s really recommended if u plan to have a desert explore experience. If I come to Jaisalmer next time, I will definitely try several nights staying in the desert cuz it’s behind my expectation.

The desert is spectacular...

We booked a tailored package that included 2 nights in the desert over New Year’s eve 2023 and some camel safaris. We had additionally requested a pick-up from the airport and a hotel stay in Jaisalmer in a hotel of our liking during a busy time of the year when hotels are normally booked out. Sawai made it all happen. He and his hard-working team go above and beyond to accommodate guests and their requests. Abhay, our camel tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and answered all guest queries. He was patient as he explained the various aspects of desert life, flora, fauna, and the man is a great story-teller. The desert is spectacular and Real Desert Man Camel Safari made our visit well worth our while. We would absolutely go back and, next time around, stay longer.

Never rode a camel before

Naru, the jeep driver brought us to Kuldhara, the abandoned village for a little extra fee for the jeep and for us. Next time we will skip this. But then we were transported (~ an hour) closer to the Pakistani border, where Sakhi the camel rider puttwo of us on the top of the camels Lalu and Raji. The trip was silent, but it was a refreshment after crowded Indian cities. Then we have parked 🐪 inside a sand dune wave. Where from we were free to explore the sand, the beetles and the sunset. During that time they were preparing for cooking. We've got some delicious masala chai, and wonderful chili meal with fresh roti, chapata, chapati. We got a story of Moomal and Mahendra, but not as a song. Anyway... they were silent and very dutyful.

Two perfect desert nights

There are so many camel safaris to choose from in Jaisalmer which made me a little apprehensive. Almost every guest house or shop in the fort offers some kind of package. It was a sign that this might be a tourist trap, which is exactly the opposite experience to what I was after.

I am so glad to have chosen this one. They are quite flexible with the packages. I chose the two nights camel safari. I was shocked that I was the only one at the start - blissfully peaceful and an authentic experience of nature.

After a few hours' rides with my guide Lilu in the afternoon, I met up with super experienced guide Abhai and another traveller who had booked in for 3 nights, and was also after a quiet, leisurely, non-touristy experience. Food was cooked on a wood fire at camp, we were showed how to make some of it, and the beds under the stars was super comfortable. (Note you'll want to bring some warm woollen clothing in case.)

Lilu and Abhai were both great, willing to answer any questions and always in high spirits. Abhai has a song for everything! Super friendly and knowledgable.

We were the only ones around. Just us and the pure silence of the desert. It's truly a magical experience.

After the trip, we were given a room to shower and freshen up. Can't overstate how awesome that was.
