    A must when in Jaisalmer
It's experiences like this that fill me with joy. Such a beautiful evening watching the show. We learned a lot about traditional rajasthani culture and understand the importance of preserving it in this modern age. We were the only 2 in the 6:30 show (it was still off season) so had the opportunity to ask questions about the traditional instruments used during the show and got to see the puppets up close. The family that make the puppets and perform the show are descendants of orignal puppeteers who would tour the villages with their show in the past. Very humbling people and not too pushy on trying to sell you any extras - just happy to answer your questions and very proud to be a rajasthani. We also got to meet the founder of the musuem after viewing his personal collection of rajasthani artifacts. Overall it was a great experience and I urge people to go and enjoy this 'not on hotel to do list' activity.

    Must visit museum
Really interesting little museum/ gallery. The founder of the museum is a very interesting 90yr old who is happy to have a chat. Different to all the flash museums and definitely worth a look. Puppet shows are on at night

    Must visit hidden gem
Must visit gem of Jaisalmer. Excellent puppet show by local artists which was a great way to end the day. One can also buy puppets and other handcrafted items from them. The museum hand curated by Mr NK Sharma is a great view into the past of Jaisalmer and its way of life. It was a delight to meet the 90 yr old gentleman who is still just as enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. There is also a shop where one can buy raja rani fridge magnets, dhoop made with local ingredients, local hing and Mr Sharma's books about the city and its culture

Though not great,a good time pass after sunset,a good enjoyment for children.every act is performed by only one puppet.
As entry is throuugh ticket, they keep asking for donations to artists throughout the show it was irritating.

Puppet shows are at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm. Surrounding the hall where puppet show is conducted there is museum. You will get to read information about various places in brief. I saw that people overlook the information written there.

A lovely, unique and authentic experience in Jaisalmer. Mr N.K Sharma is so knowledgeable & passionate about the culture surrounding this beautiful city. We went to the lake for sunset then caught the puppet show at 7.30 followed by a walk through the museum. Stunning puppets, beautiful music & friendly people. Highly recommend as a must do in Jaisalmer.

It’s worth a visit. Mr Hemant Sharma, son of Mr NK sharma (responsible for building the museum), provided us with useful local insight regarding the city which made our trip more pleasant. Wonderful display of art through the musical puppet show. The museum is for those interested in the art and culture of Jaisalmer.

This part of our short jaisalmer trip was the most memorable one... The puppet show took us straight to the heart of Rajasthan! The skill of the performers, especially the super talented youth, the mesmerizing songs sung by these talented people and the sheer joy they experienced while performing, shone through each verse... This enclosure of art and culture immortalized by Mr. Sharma will let you experience Rajasthan as it should. My heart is so full❤️ A must visit if you are in Jaisalmer! A small mirage of the bygone world...

The museum is a great little gem in Jaisalmer and the puppet show was really cute. (I really enjoy puppet shows) A great glimpse into the area's culture and it's inspiring that it was a labor of love started by one man to maintain a record of the desert's culture

What an amazing place!
The artists are very committed to the puppet show and to the music and songs.
The museum is most interesting, with beautiful music instruments and daylife objects used in the Thar desert.
The owners speak perfect English and French.
We will defnitely come back!

This was an absolutely brilliant puppet show and a very good price - 200 rupees for the puppet show and entry to the museum (for an international adult visitor, cheaper for locals and children). The puppets were beautiful and the music and puppetry were amazing to experience and very skilful. We loved the commentary as well which was amusing and very helpful to understand the show. We were also lucky enough to meet the founder of the museum who was lovely. It was also possible to buy puppets there for a very reasonable cost.
We were mainly going for the puppet show but the museum had some interesting
artifacts and we spent about 30 minutes there. There is also a lovely rooftop restaurant with a great view of Jaisalmer fort.

One of the most memorable experience of mine in Rajasthan. The singers sang so beautifully expressing the real spirit of the state and watching the Kathputli dance to their tunes was just amazing. Also I bought a very nice Kathputli doll for myself from there. There is a wide variety of Kathputli sold. In this virtual world, watching someone perform live and that too preserving the actual heritage and culture is a bliss. Hence, this is a must visit place!

Great place to understand Rajasthani culture. The owner, a teacher, can give you all the information about the museum in English. In the evening there are two puppet shows, the musicians are great and you can also buy a puppet from them. We really enjoyed the show. Give them support 🙏
