Bada Bagh is a 15 min drive from Jaisalmer city. The best time to visit is early in the morning when the sun's long rays are directly falling on the beautiful chhatris or dome-shaped pavilion painting them in glorious hue of red. There usually is not much crowd at this place so you can have the place to yourself. Each... More

Only 10 min away by tuk tuk (180 r for the tuk tuk to take you there and back + 150r the ticket + 100 rupees if you want to take pictures), this place is amazingly beautiful. It does not take long to see everything and the entrance is a bit expensive (as it is supposed to pay for the... More

We really enjoyed our visit to Bada Bagh. Its only a short distance outside of Jaisalmer and definitely work a visit. We spent about half an hour walking around looking at the Royal Cenotaphs, its really unique. The newer ones are much smaller than the older more grand memorials. Watch out for touts coming up to you and starting to... More

Those are the royal cenotaphs of Jaisalmer, located a few kilometers away from the city, you can easily visit then as a stop in the tour to the Dunes.

The Bada Bagh is basically a royal cenotaphs or chattris on the outskirts of Jaisalmer. They were built by the Jaisalmer royal family as memorials for their Kings and Queens. Like a lot of heritage sites in India, the Bada Bagh now sits in ruins. They do take a ton of money as entrance and camera fees but it seemed... More
