This abandoned village is a fascinating site with multiple versions of history. The dilapidated buildings show large room sizes and multiple rooms in each house. Archeologists need to carefully excavate and find out more about the life & times of the residents of the past. Certainly a lot more to learn about the people of these villages.

I love to explore offbeat places. After reading about the thrilling story behind the place I became eager to visit kuldhara.
Though the village is not as fascinating as its story but still one can feel the spookiness in the air. Read more about this place in my blog.

Very interesting place. Yes, it is an abandoned village, but no one knows why. Different stories go around. Has anyone seen any ghosts no one confirms that too! But a great place to make your own ghost story and click some photographs and make Tik Tok.

There is much said and assumed about this abandoned village - Kuldhara but it was a must-do for us. One could say walking through the ruins that much of it has been reconstructed and there is constant restoration going on. Although most tourists feel that there isn't much to do here it all depends on the understanding of the history of the place. Rajasthan, on the whole, is a region that is full of mysterious tales and stories from the past. Knowing that once this whole region was populated with prosperous people and was suddenly abandoned is quite an intriguing situation in itself. The locals have many theories to explain the phenomena. Nothing can be claimed to certainty though but for me, the place was not a disappointment. We spent quite a few hours with some interesting points to note - the build and structure of houses, the water reservoirs similar to what we have studied in history books and many such minute things that might initiate an interest.

While the tale is fascinating, the ruins are not as exciting as the story around it. There are limited areas that you can enter and visit and place is not kept clean of tourist garbage (e.g., empty bottles). It is all empty and while we had a guide that explained to us the considerations in their architecture, it is still very bare. It would have nice to see the gold that was found there, may be displayed in a mini-museum building.

There is nothing special about this place. They have built a few new dwellings and decorated them. Visit if you are in the vicinity. As per the story 84 neighbouring villages of Paliwal Brahmins abandoned their homes one night and left the area.

Time required 1 hour . Entry fee 20 per head and 50 for vehicle . It was a luxury village in ancient times and people left the village because of many reasons like , minister , water , earth quake ..

Everybody will tell you to go here - not to miss. But it's just 10 minute's walk through an abandoned village with ruins and a story. With a stamp of having been haunted.
Not much to see except the temple and one house.

Would not recommend going just for this - would recommend visiting as a part of other places around too. It's still vast - ruins of 400+ houses.

Kuldhara Village, steeped in history, captivates with its abandoned structures and mysterious aura. The tales of its deserted past add an intriguing element to the visit. However, the lack of proper maintenance and interpretive information on-site could be improved to offer a more immersive and educational experience for visitors.

I couldn't believe the entire village was wiped off.It looked as if there was an earth quik. Inquired from the security about the damage of the place but they refused to say any thing. They said everything is mentioned on the internet or buy a cd.
We were a bit disheartened....and finally left.
