I have to admit that I didn't realise this was still an active cremation site! The old memorials are picturesque and there are views over the city but there are better places to watch the sun set.

A beautiful example of Rajasthani architecture, Vyas Chhatri as the name suggests, is dedicated to sage Vyaas, the writer of the epic Mahabharata. This local version of a cenotaph, is made up of delicate carvings that are a sight to behold. This is also one of the most scenic spots to catch a sunset in the desert.

This is the most amazing place I had ever visit. It is hard to believe there is such a scene in the whole world. It is like a mirage in the desert.

There is not much at this place. Though its renowned as the sunset point in Jaisalmer, I couldn't find anything special there. Even the sunset view wasn't something to boast about. Also, you won't find any public transport for return journey. You would need to walk around 1 km before you could get an auto.
