Rampuriya Haveli is the name of one of the many havelis in Bikaner. This place will leave you mesmerised. There are a series of havelis on the street and they give a tough competition to each other. The havelis are to be seen from outside and there is no access to the public inside.

The photos normally depict a great surroundings etc. However these are marvel in small lanes with local traffic. Currently owned by same families and staying in other parts of India or abroad. Their architecture is worth seeing as it is well preserved. Some are ones actually being used when the owners come to the place

Beautiful buildings albeit only possible to see from the outside. There are also many more if you walk around the older part of Bikaner, in varying states of repair. It's a shame that it's not possible to see inside but a visit to the Hotel Bhanwar Niwas eg for lunch gives a good insight.

The 15th Century Rampuria havelis were constructed by Balujee Chalva for the rich merchant family of Rampuria. As I walked through the narrow lanes between the haveli's, I was amazed by the grandeur and opulence of these havelis built in red sandstone. The detailed carvings on every pillar and windows, the perforated jaalis, the beautiful jharokhas (balcony) make these havelis look absolutely stunning. Haveli's are a fusion of Mughal and Victorian architecture.
The best time to wander around the havelis is early in the morning when the roads are empty. The tourists can't go inside, so you need to experience it observing it from outside, which in my view itself is a visual delight. Wood is used in large quantities.
It will take little more than an hour to take a quick tour around these haveli's. This place is a must visit if you are touring Bikaner.

The families who own these are hardly ever there so they remain closed up. The outsides are very grand but slowly decaying. They are in a small are so easy to do

If you want to get some cool profile images for you social media then this is the place to be. But nothing special to offer. Its just one street where you can click one shot & leave the place because its very crowded. You will see lots of local roaming & just cant stop staring. which was super irritating.
But yes great shots though

The architecture is very beautiful but only a few people come here as these are closed to the general public. You can only take a look from the outside and admire the beauty.
