Well maintained, put together of diverse arts and crafts of Odisha. Highly recommend. Would be nice if the museum shop had more paintings, etc. as displayed in the museum.

Its well designed museum with serene environment. AV theatre as nice small movies worth watching, will collectively take almost 40 minutes! The actual museum is very well displayed in various sections which are numerically tagged. Pots and Tulsi Pot are still fresh in mind! Metal and silver artefacts are eye catching. wooden panels of door are ancient beautiful, one would want them on own door too! Textile including silk are wonderfully displayed, reminding of great culture of Odisha! The staff is courteous and helpful, adding the value to museum.

Started in 2018, this museum celebrates the traditional arts and crafts of Odisha known as Utkala in the ancient times referring to the supremacy of the arts here. The primary galleries showcase the various arts and crafts still being practiced across Odisha and their religious and socio-economic significance.

Visitors are encouraged to go through the audio visual show before exploring the galleries which was very unique and went a long way in enjoying the displays even without any guides. The museum has several friendly and knowledgeable staff posted in each gallery. Apart from this adequate information is also provided in each room.

Several workshops were going on in a separate section while the open air amphitheater nestled amidst trees is ideal for live art performances. The museum is spread over 13 acres with lush foliage and has a separate open-air play area to keep small kids busy.

Despite several galleries still being developed, the museum offers a comprehensive and colorful introduction to the rich artistic heritage of Odisha.

This Handicraft musuem is known as Kala Bhoomi and is an unique initiative by the government of Odisha. Kala Bhoomi is an ocean of Odisha handlooms and handicraft and is not to be missed by anyone. All sections of the museum are led by able experts who take extra pains to explain the history and the process of each textile and handicraft.these guides are themselves trained artisans and make the conversation animated and interesting.Stone and metal carvings become alive with Subrat, Rashmi and Vishnu. Similarly the handloom section cones alive with Surya and Bhimsen.Even Surabhi from Kandhamal working as a security personnel adds special effects in your entire journey. Keep some good amount of time and savour the rich heritage of Odisha

A well designed, well conceptualised , place created to showcase the rich heritage, tradition and culture of Odisha. It is somewhat special when compared with the other museums. The pavements , the open space, the corridors , the interior ,the open theatre everything has seem to be been taken care of. We can see the making of the pattachitra, the local canvas paintings using tamarind seed powder dough and organic colors in different stages, so also the palm leaf inscriptions. The stages of silk sarees from silk worm to saree depicting the whole Ramayan, all mathematical formulae. We can see the parts of Chariots of our car festival, which is original to our state. The tribal artifacts, the different types of artifacts peculiar to every other region mesmerises. There are a lot of things which are now in the verge of extinction like the round play cards, the clay granary pots for storing , are placed in the museum. A calm and quiet place , with a bunch of patient narrators made this place special for me.
