Kedar Gauri are symbol of love and affection. The story of Kedar and Gauri is age old. It is a story similar to Laila Majnu, Heer Ranjha, Romeo Juliette. I think the place is dedicated to the two. However, it should be maintained well.

While Parasurameshwara, Siddheswara and Mukteswara temples are all in a park known as Mukteswara park, Kedareswara an Kedargauri temples are in another park viz Kedargauri park. Only a small way separates these two parks. All these five can be visited at a stretch and in a 60 to 90 minutes time, with the vehicle,if any parked at a place. KEDARGAURI and KEDARESWAR are two different temples of Siva and Gauri
located side by side in the same precincts.
Kedargauri is an ancient temple of 11 th century. The idol of deity Gauri, in a standing posture is beautiful. This temple is also famous because of an annual procession of Lord Siva from Lingaraja temple to this place to commemorate his marriage with His concert Parvathi. This Temple is painted with a bright red colour. The main attraction is a big statue of Hanuma and Goddess Durga. Near the Temple are two ponds one viz, ‘Khira kund’, considered as having medicinal values and the other ‘Marichi kund’, that cures women’s infertility . No entry fees.

KedaresKwar and Kedar Gauri Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva (Kedareswar) and Goddess Gouri (Kedar Gouri). It is one of the ancient temples in Bhubaneswar. It is one among the eight Astasambhu temples in Bhubaneswar. There are several legends associated with the construction of Kedar Gauri temple. One legend says that King Lalatendu Kesari constructed this temple in dedication to two lovers named Kedar and Gouri and another holds that it was constructed by Lord Shiva. It is situated very near Mukteswar temple. One can spend some time in a peaceful atmosphere.

Ask the citizens of Bhubaneswar whether they have seen this temple. Many of the residents are likely to answer in the negative. They have of course heard that such a spot exists.
There is a legend about this temple which celebrates the immortal love between a couple ; Kedar ( man) and Gauri (woman). The legend was also the subject of a very old Odia movie 'Kedar Gauri'. The love story had a sad ending with both lovers having died , keeping their love immortal. Kedar Gauri temple is not exactly a memorial to the lovers because the goddess Shiva and Parbati are worshipped here. How the human beings became Gods or whether the God and his consort had descended in the shape of man and woman is not explained. Thus the temple is both a place of worship and also a commemoration of love. There is nothing great to see as a tourist . It's importance is only as a local place of worship . There are two ponds in the campus . The water of one of these ponds is believed to have divine properties if taken on Ashokastami festival day. On that day pitchers of water from this pond are auctioned for large amounts of cash.

Kedargauri temple is one of the eight Astasambhu Temples, situated next to Mukteswar Temple, in Bhubaneswar and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva, referred to locally by the name ‘Kedareshwar’ and it is decorated with beautiful sculptural embellishments. This place is very popular and considered sacred among the locals, so expect crowd. Also every year during Shital Sasthi festival, Lord Lingaraj (Shiva) is taken from Lingaraj temple in a grand procession to Kedar Gouri temple, where he marries Devi Parvati, it is then when the place gets really overcrowded. This place can easily reached by shared auto or cab. Mobiles, shoes should be kept outside before you enter the main temple complex.

This temple, though located next to the ancient parasurama and mukteshwar temples, is relatively new temple.

The temple seemed to be popular among the locals.
