We stayed in Satkosia Tiger Reserve, Badmul for a day. Amazing place to stay on Mahanadi river banks. It's a government property so the maintenance is not so great.

The view of the gorge inside the reserve is unexplainable, it only can be experienced. Spend some time silently on the bank of the river Mahanadi passing through the mountains and I bet the experience will be something out of the world.

Approx. 100 km from Bhubaneshwar. Nature lover should visit to this place but avoid during rainy season. You can see crocodile breeding and reservoir over there and boating facility is alos available

We went with our office colleagues. That was quite nice time we spent with each other, having bonfire, drinks(if its ok according to situation), dancing. Point to note is that, there is NO NETWORK(if you more into in check ins and FB status). Just go and enjoy for yourselves and take some time out from the daily schedules. Its rather... More

We came to know about the place from one of my colleagues who was from Odisha. I saw the website and decided to book a cottage at Chhotkei village for two days. It was in July-2014. We stayed there two nights. Travelled all around the place with a guide who was very nice. The cottage is beautifully located, being at... More

Here is a list of key points you (are not told and) need to know: 1) Online booking system is useless as they still ask you for the booking slip from Angul Forest Division office. So, always go through Angul, get your bookings done at Angul office and then proceed. 2) Entry permit required for core area and you will... More

We went to Satkosia for a one night two days tour during January. The online booking system for accommodation turned out to be quite useless. Also the phone numbers never seemed to work. We had to book tents at Tarava from DFO, Angul. The tents and facilities were modest. Also we didn't see any wildlife (maybe due to cold temperatures).... More
