This was my first trip with WR, and the experience is beyond words, simply superb. I thoroughly enjoyed the day to the fullest. WR would be my first option, whenever I shall plan travel in future. I wish Jayesh all the best .

I joined Western Routes for the Old city food walk in shukrawar peth, Pune. Having just moved to this city, this food walk made me explore foods and places I would have crossed without even noticing. From mango cream mastani at an old ice cream place to thaalipeeth at Pune Guest House, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. What made it even better were stories of history of food and places around like the colonial building of Mandai, vishrambaghwada, etc.

I'm a Punekar based oversees, who makes it down to the home turf maybe once every 2-3 years. Despite having lived in Pune for 25 years and being familiar with some parts of this experience, I was surprised at how much I didn't know about the city I grew up in, and how many gems of trivia this walk introduced to me! I have done walking tours in many cities around the globe, and I have to say, in terms of quality, this one is right up there among the best ones! It is immensely thoughtfully crafted, with a lot of love, which is apparent once you get out of Shaniwarwada (first third of the walk) into the city. The sights, tastes, stories, history, nostalgia that combine to create this one-of-a-kind experience are incredible! This was a morning really well spent, and I would highly recommend the walk to tourists and Punekars alike!

Despite being a local and having passed through these streets all my life, attending the heritage walk, I realized there were things that I didn't know about my city! The heritage tour organized by Western Routes was a great way to familiarize myself with the city once more! A unique blend of architecture, history, stories and food made this a memorable tour! The tour starts at 9 AM from Shaniwar wada and ends at Mandai at around 12 PM. The tour is paced well so that you can soak in the culture. Personal I am not a fan of fast paced tours and therefore I enjoyed this one! We made stops at Shaniwar wada, Kasba Ganpati, Dagdu sheth halwai. Mandai flower market, burud Ali and Mandai vegetable market. We had 2 stops for food, at Joshi wadewale for some lip smacking wada pav and ended the tour with Misal at Krishna Misal which completes a Puneri experience!

I can't recommend this tour enough! Prachi was our guide and she was full of interesting facts and historical stories of the places that we visited. From temples to bustling market places. We were introduced to some tasty snacks Pune style, given flowers for our hair and at the end of the tour treated to another typical snack meal in a little reasturant. Professional and so very interesting. Thank you very much.
