Visited this Auditorium for the Rose Society exhibition that was on the ground floor. Tilak's statue looking good in a separate enclosure at the end of the hall. Main exhibition hall is not maintained. Lighting is inadequate and tubelights are strung around pillars. Roses were wilting though it was not hot outside. Facade is grimy and employee two-wheelers are parked in front of the beautiful panel work in front.
One street entrance is closed. Parking is adequate if you get there early. 4* when it gets some very necessary maintenance, 5 when it gets air conditioning.

The theater is not well maintained and it seems once in a while only the plays are played there. Even the washrooms are not well maintained and seats in the theater seems to be of decades old and not well adjustable at all.

The seats are very uncomfortable. The air conditioning wasn't working at it's optimum level. Men's toilet wasn't sanitized and clean. Sound system wasn't effective.

This theatre is located on the Lokamanya Tilak road in pune. I had been to Tilak Smarak Mandir to watch Marathi plays and they have area for organizing various exhibitions of flowers, indian clothings etc.

This place has had a rub with history just imagine visiting that same place where Lokmanya Tilak lived and walking on the same ground where he walked seeing his study room filled me with pride of the rich history that our country has.

This place assumes greater significance in terms of stage plays, being conducted in Pune city. Mostly, stage plays & musical events in local language ‘Marathi’, are organized at this place. These stage plays & musical events can be enjoyed with friends & families. There are lot of eateries around this place, where variety of vegetarian & non-vegetarian food can be availed.

The auditorium is located in the city and has been a pretty old timer. It was perhaps the first commercial stage I performed a dance at. And I m sure many old Punekars would agree. The place definitely not world class and hasn't seen major changes in the past few decades. However it carries an aura of simplicity and culture. It shall always been close to my heart. Recommended to catch a few Marathi local and national plays here. Give it a try!!
