If you are in pune during ganpati visarjan please do make a visit to this road. The idols of Ganesha are carried by the people of Pune with such a great enthusiasm pop and show that it is worth a watch. Do visit the place during nighttime.

I visited this area as part of a walking tour on a busy Saturday afternoon. I found this really helpful as the streets were absolutely heaving with people and I would have struggled to navigate the area without my guide.
Well worth a visit if you're ok with hustle and bustle, and don't miss the local food markets, which are comparatively wonderfully calm.
Don't expect to get many photos, lifting an arm to raise your camera would be a challenge in these crowds!

Have visited this road atleast ten times. Favourite shopping destination in Pune. Everything under the sun is available here. Very popular for dress materials.
But very crowded. An outsider to Pune, would do well to take an auto and reach the place, and
then traverse the length and breadth of the area.

Must visit for shopping, eating, roaming around and getting a feel of the city.
Too crowded, no parking space, look around for one-way routes if you are in a car...rather car is not to be taken here to avoid getting stuck or getting hit/brushed by some or the other vehicle.

Laxmi Road is best place for roadside shopping which is near Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple. Please plan to go there by Public Transport as it is very difficult to get Parking place at this place.
You can plan to Visit Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple and Shaniwar Wada as those Two places are walkable distance from this area.
This place will be too crowded during Ganesh Navratri Celebrations. Better to avoid those days

This place is situated very near to famous Ganesh temple and shaniwar vada at Budhwar peth. This place is famous for ladies shopping. You will find many small small stalls selling cosmetics, dresses, shoes, bags, crockery etc. You can not visit this place with vehicle, its very crowded. Sometime it becomes to walk through narrow lanes. This market is Very famous shopping among ladies. You can plan to visit all three attractions all together and situated at walkable distance. Nothing great as tourist attraction as such.

Laxmi road, Pune is about 3 km long having shops on both the sides. Typically if you are looking for cloths, garments ... yes Laxmi road is amazing place. For gold, silver jewellary again this is right place. You have ample choice, maximum variety. The name "Laxmi" perfectly suits this road. You can have a complete pleasure of shopping. The kind of busy place unfortunitely the road itself is very narrow and highest traffic and pollution centre. It will be wise to avoid going by own vehile (even 2 wheeler) on Laxmi road. Otherwise just enjoy shopping.

Laxmi road is like the Bhuleshwar of Mumbai - for those from South Mumbai shall agree with the comparison!
You can just find anything here - at very cheap rates...almost like buying at wholesale prices
When I was in Pune, all alone, I would roam around a lot in this area buying stuff for home. Good TP. Also, you get these incense sticks called 'Maurya'. Its only at Laxmi Road that you shall find this.
If you are a tourist and dont want to get caught in traffic...plz avoid. However, if you are planning to but some Chitale's bhakarwadis - Chitale bandhu's shop is pretty close-by.

This place is the shopping hub for Puneites since many decades. Name a thing and you'll get it here. One of the most busiest place in Pune. From clothing to jewelry everything is available here. The only problem with it is parking of vehicle, as this road get very busy during peak hours and one rarely get place for parking. From labeled items to nonbranded goods, everything is available here. One of the happening place in Pune. The famous temple "Sri Dagdu Sheth Ganapati" is at a walkable distance from this place. Variety of shops with lots of variety of goods exist at this place. This road remains silent on Monday because almost all shops are closed on this day. This place is clean. Doesn't have public washroom. Worth a visit, if you like shopping. Be here before 8:30pm for shopping. By 9:00pm almost all shops are closed. Archana Restaurant near to this place (Mandi) serves good food. Give it a try.
