Place is extremely beautiful
The trek is not very friendly, dangerous turns, protruding rocks and not at all advisable for the elders.
No proper walking road causes dangers.
Most of the people get shoes torned and there is no shops or anyone selling it, and hence people have to walk barefoot causing them injuries, the panchayat should look into this. Dont take guide there as there are shops for tea and pav to guide way.
Try to reach there max by 9am so that you can enjoy the weather, and preferred is rainy season only as the waterfall has no water during summers.
No washrooms on the entire trekking path and people have to do in open

Located in the quaint village of Bhira in Maharashtra, just a two-hour drive away from Pune, a destination mostly unknown, Devkund is a waterfall with blue-green clear water that is a view worth a watch.
An easy hour-long hike from the village Bhira leads you to the rock, opening down to the waterfall which is beautiful, clear and pristine.
The pool of water at the bottom of the fall is made of colours that are indescribable, and will probably make you slightly emotional.
You should take along food for the ride, and keep walking shoes on you, as the trek, while fairly easy, is not a walk in the park. From the point of the trek till the actual waterfall, it will take you around 1.5-2 hours to make it to the waterfall.
A mosquito repellant would be a good choice too if being a feast for parasites is not your idea of fun. When you finally reach Devkund, it’s a different feeling altogether. The exotic green-blue waters of Devkund and the soothing chill in the air will take away your fatigue almost immediately. Don’t forget to take a dip in to the clear waters and click loads of photographs!

The natural beauty of Devkhund can be easily compared to the Yosemite National Park.
We are blessed to have such Natural Beauty in our backyard (of Mumbai/Pune).
The technicalities of the Trek have been detailed by many previous reviewers. Essentially, it is an easy trek, ideal for 1st timers. Very few treks give the combined pleasures of a lake, tall vertical rock-faces, dense jungle with abundant bird-life and a majestic waterfall, all in 1 area.
The main purpose of this review is to alter the perception of fellow travellers about the villagers who have recently started collecting ₹50/- per head as “guides”. Many reviewers are critical of this. In my opinion, we should welcome this new move by the villagers (although it may not be totally legal on their part to insist on payment for visiting Government property without the proper paperwork).
The best way to preserve Natural Resources is to involve the locals in its upkeep. If the locals feel it is “their mountain “ and their livelihood is interlinked with it, they can be better convinced to take care of it.
I spend some time with every water/tea seller and villager I met while on the trek educating them about their own selfish benefits in keeping the area clean. I was even able to extract promises from many that they would install dustbins on the way & carry out cleaning up drives on a weekly basis.
My request to fellow travellers is to willing pay them the (small) sum of ₹50/- per head for their services, while imposing upon them that they should also share in the upkeep of this area.
At the same time, I request fellow travellers to pick up their own trash & that left behind by earlier travellers (preferably in front of their guides, to show them our good intentions).
After all, actions speak louder than words.

One of the worst camp arranger i have ever seen in my life. Have been to many treks before this but Never seen such an irresponsible person who dont even pick up calls to guide visitors who are stuck at some remote location where there is no transportation facility to go further, no person to talk to and no one to guide.
It was the first weekend of july, me along with my friends decided to visit devkund.
While searching for trek groups for devkund, i saw trip advisor name on the top. Having a renowned name of the service provider i chose to contact trip advisor to book the trek.
I called on the number shown on the website and its representative Mr Kshitij Mhamunkat attended the call. Upon asking the trek details, he offered me price of Rs. 1000 per person with inclusions of night stay in villa on day one evening, Buffet dinner, breakfast on next day and buffet lunch + guide charegs.
I asked for some time to discuss the same with my friends and after 2 days i called Mr Kshitij again. This time he gave me the price of Rs.1500 per person. Upon saying that i had discussed already for Rs. 1000 per person, he refused to reduce the price. I escalated the matter to my friend and gave her the number. When she called, Mr. Kshitij gave her the price of around Rs. 1250 and after her negotiation, he agreed to offer Rs. 1000 per person and subsiquently she gave booking confirmation.
On next day when i called him to confirm the price, he gave me the same price of around 1250/- for which he refused to do any negotiation. I do not understand the intensions if this man and what kind of representative he is. .....
When i said, the booking is already confirmed on my friend's name with charges Rs.1000pp, he agreed to discuss further details.
Now comes the twist, the situation was just opposite to what he diacussed. No transportation facility from pali, no local conveyance, heavy rainfall in the village allowing no one to go further. We were stuck at some unknown place where there is no one to guide.
When i called him, out of 10-12 times, 6-7 times his phone was bloody switched off and 2-3 times he didnt picked up the call. Upon picking up the call, his way of talking was so rude. When i asked him to arrange a vehicle he demanded 1500 rs extra and when i requested to reduce the price, he hang up the call. Do these guys handle clients in this way.
Upon reaching the base village, we were given a small house having no water facility, roof broken out of which water came all night and a bed on which you cant sleep out of fear of breaking it. We had to sleep on floor on mats which was wet becoz of rain water coming out of broken roof. Could you even imaging Mr. Kshitij. If you cant handle the trips, why do you take. He call villa to a broken house and cold food a buffet. My foot. We were so scared that we had decided to run early morning via any mode of transportation we get.
He couldn't handle and decided to leave us with local arrangers.
Next day when we shared our story with the new arrangers, all thanks to god that they were so nice and greated us with care and so much help. This is called the best service when you treat some unknown people like a family..
Wishing not to hear from you again.

This is not an untouched place anymore. In weekends it is overcrowded. Trek is of about 2.5 hrs. I have read everywhere that it is an easy trek but believe me it is not. During rains it is quite risky but really beautiful. Not good for kids. Pack adequate amount of water and food for this trek as you do not get anything on your way.
Avoid it if it is heavy rain.
I witnessed it same as I have seen in pictures but with the crowd.

18/08/2019 "Enjoy the journey, don't worry about the destination" fitted perfectly for us in this trip. Yes, Devkund was closed as expected. However, the beautiful roads through dense forest after Mumbai Pune expressway till Devkund, cloudy day and the mesmerizing views of nature as we leave behind the city made this trip so perfect. Gates are closed but you can still go for trekking of about 6-7kms where you will find some other small waterfalls on your way. The main waterfall entry will resume after 10 September, 2019 as told by one of the officials at Devkund.
P.S - This blog is just meant to give an information which might be helpful for those who are planning for a trip to this place in upcoming weekends that Devkund waterfall is closed till 10th Sept this year. We could not found this information anywhere in any blogs until we found it on our own at Devkund :P .
