About
Devrai Art Village tries to make a bridge between the far flung tribal areas and urban living. Our work addresses modern tastes and sensibilities but is inspired by traditional designs and techniques. Our craftsmen come from the Naxalite hit Gadchiroli and Chhatisgarh regions and are often caught in the crossfire between the State and the insurgents. DAV strives towards evolving a safe space where their creativity is nurtured and livelihoods sustained.

Beautyful artwork, great cause

Definitely worth a visit. They have beautiful art and metal pieces, jewelry, and trinkets, very affordably priced in support of the NGO.

You may buy a souvenir here
Feb 2020
I wouldn't call it reasonably priced but the art work here deserves being praised. The art gallery is very well maintained and displays some of the best art work. Idols made in stone and brass are quite attractive. You have a lot of handicraft items too. A person interested in art will definitely enjoy the place. You could buy a souvenir if you are ok with the price here.

Good place but too expensive
Dec 2019 • Couples
The artifacts are beautiful and so is their place. However they are too expensive. The place does not seem like an NGO as even small artifacts are priced very very high.

Visit if you are an art lover
Nov 2019 • Family
We visited this place in November, it was refreshing to see how village art is taken at a professional level though it is an NGO.
You can also see how the moulds are made and how the art pieces get created.
The walk down the hill from gallery to the workshop is nice. Few pics below.

Overhyped and nothing of importance
Oct 2019 • Family
The distinct Devrai Art Village boards through out Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar are unmissable. The place is bang opp on wheelz entertainment.

After negotiating down some tough and steep roads, we reached Devrai. A small sign at the entrance pointed to an art gallery. There were people inside but they neither welcomed us nor acknowledged our existence. No one in the art gallery so I hesitated and wandered for a bit - checked out a few very pricey items and headed out. While one of us explored the work sheds a little, I went looking for my daughter, a little anxious as the place is deeply forested. I came across 2 people seated in the garden having tea. The moment our eyes met, I smiled as is customary. The lady gave me a very nasty look and said something to her male companion. I had barely turned back, when three monstrous mosquitoes attacked me and chewed me up. The size of the mosquitoes was humongous and they accompanied us to our car.

We almost ran from there vowing never to come here again. We had a tough time getting the huge mosquitoes out of the car!! It is overhyped. Please don’t waste your time and energy on this place. Looks more like “someone’s personalised retirement plan” than a real NGO that is out to do some good.

Amazing collection of Artifacts made out of molten scrap metal!
It's a very unique art being practiced here in panchgani near Mahabaleshwar. They also have the workshed near the store where you can actually see people making the artifacts live!
Do visit this place! You will love it.

Panchgani as a hill station is not a poor relation of Mahabaleshwar, as some would see it, but a salubrious, less crowded and weather-blessed
In its own right.
Home to several well known boarding schools, and shops and amusement parks, a place which is to be visited is the Devrai Art Village, a little away from the centre, showcasing unique metalwork and
Creations.
There is also a small homestay which is worth exploring.

Interesting for art lovers
Nov 2018
The Devraj Art Village is located in Panchgani near the Sanjeewani Naka a little away from the Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar main road and very near the Parsi Point. The Art center boasts of some unique brass craftwork which are the creation of some highly skilled Adivasi craftsmen and artists from the naxalite affected areas of Chattisgarh. It is stated to be a non-profit initiative of Mandakini Mathur for giving the Adivasi craftsmen the space they rightly deserve. All in all, it is a place worth a visit. However, if prices of the products are made affordable, it could bring-in more revenues and income for the Adivasi craftsmen by ensuring more sales at its sales counters. Else it becomes a free exhibition and thats all.
