Must Visit Place but Beware of Touts for horse rides.
Table Land is a flat piece of land i.e plateau .The time you enter the parking ,there will be few people after you trying to fleece you for horse rides. They will ask for the Panchgani Municipality Tax Receipt and will tell there is a demo horse ride included in the ticket .Also they will tell it is not possible to cover the land on foot. Once you are in ,they will take you on a horse for some 200 mts and then ask for the package .One package with 4 points and another with 9 points .They will show some official rate card also and say it is approved by Government. 4 points package was for Rs 1200 and 9 points for Rs 2400 per person :D .Now you start bargaining . And now coming to the points to view - Five different plateaus which give it the name Panchgani One tree at the end of the plateau where one song in Raja Hindustani film was filmed - One tree Point One lake made from Rain water View of Krishna and Savitri river merging. Tiger Caves - A restaurant in a cave . Another restaurant in cave. A green area where some more films were shot . Thats it ! This place is a must visit but be careful of the people waiting to fleece you .They will just exaggerate what is there . The ride will take around an hour on horse back .Please think over the price for an hour of horse ride for the above places.

Run free my child with the wind in your hair...
Beyond the eye can see and the senses can fathom..... vast undulating flatland with a lake in the middle. The water is cool and clean.. Horses with tourists plod alongside, taking them on a paid roundabout. We walked for a bit. Till date, I haven't been able to complete even 50% of the Tableland area. I guess one can spend an entire day there. There is always a cool breeze blowing in summer; in winters its a chilly but pleasant and welcoming wind blowing. Adults will enjoy taking a pleasant walk, no traffic sounds or pollution to disturb... Kids will enjoy running up and down, especially where is no fear of traffic....

Beautiful expanse of land to horse ride or walk in morning/ evening, bargain hard with the horse ride people
Large expanse of land with beautiful views. If visiting in cooler months in mornings and evenings, and healthy, please consider taking an hour or 90 minutes walk. We went around 10 am in May and though the sun was onto us the breeze was cool almost towards the end till 11:30 am. We took the horse ride. We had a local guide for the day long trip but he got us on the horses and the horse guide took over. They don't tell you the charges at the start.. Neither did I insist to know there, I went with the flow. When we reached from the parking area to the start of table land we were given an idea of what would he shown, a long trip entailing almost all stops costing approx 3k and a shorter one around 30 minutes costing 1.6k. I later checked tripnadvisor and found warnings all over about these fake charges. I hope others check before going and avoid getting duped. Bargain hard to something around 1000 rs for the complete ride. Ask if they will stop and accompany as per your wish and where you would be dropped back. Get ther terms absolutely cleared We were told that The horse guide would be there with us throughout and get us down and show both caves on the way. The horse guides are probably needed to point out the Sydney point, harrisons folly etc that can be seen from the table. Rest talk is all dedicated to which movie was shot where which we were least bothered about. They dropped us off at the shiva cave and asked us to go ourselves and to walk back to the parking area. The horses are well trained and the ride is long and good. The place is beautiful on May. I can only imagine how heavenly it would be post monsoons. The tiger cave and shiva temple cave are okay. If you chose to walk you can take a break and eat at the dine ins there..

Good tourist spot. Visit when whether is cool around 9.00am or 16.00 pm . To explore whole place walking would take long and will be tiring. Recommend horse ride or pony cart ride to cover all 7 main points.
Negotiate/deal directly with services providers for normal prices.
Avoid trouts completely who cheat visitors 2 to 3 times more and can spoil your trip.
Try to spend minimum 2 hours to enjoy everything. Plenty of snacks available. Avoid feeding the monkeys to be safe. Arrange pre-booked taxi from main market or your hotel to avoid inconvenience

Have visited his place multiple times. It is a flat table land where you can do horse or cart riding or just walk from one end to another. Each side has a different view to offer. If you are a movie bluff, you will be surprised that a lot of movies are shot here (just ask a local guide). Has other places of interest such as caves, pandav chulha etc. But do visit this place for a beautiful sunset. There is a small pond on top and it was beautiful to see the reflection of setting sun. Clean and well maintained. Some points do not have fencing done, so need to be careful with kids.

The moment you reach scammers will come with horses to give you a demo and tell you the ride costs Rs 240 only but after taking you inside, they will ask you for Rs 2500 for the ride. The taxi people are hand in glove with these scammers. They mistreat the horses too. This scam should immediately end. The place is pretty boring too. There is nothing really to see here. Just plain barren land and nothing else. I would say take if off your list if you are visiting Panchgani. Tiny dingy caves and nothing else actually.

This Table land is the first and foremost important site seeing place of Panchgani. There are total five table lands here and all together called as table land. there are five hence this village name is derived as Panchagani. Pancha means Five and Gani is Sanskrit word which means plane land in front of home. This is Second largest mountain plateau in Asia, First one is located in Tibet. This table land is at an elevation of 4550 feet above sea level which is the highest point of Panchgani. This table land is spread across 95 acres area. This land is flat and large, offering clear views of the entire region, its valleys, and hills with no obstructions.

This land is very vast and exploring by walk is not possible. Secondly due to tourist attraction, they are not allowed personal vehicles here. So only option available is going on Horse ride or Tonga. Rates are bit high here. If you are good in bargaining then you will get at right prices.

Tonga people will take you through out the land surrounding area and showcase the tourist spots. There are total five tourists spots here which are main points to cover during your horse riding.
1. Devil's Kitchen: Which is the area where Pancha Pandavas were had kitchen during their Vanavas.
2. Shooting Point: This is the point which is famous for shooting and most of the Bollywood pictures shooting was happened here. Some of them are Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Mela, Raja Hindustani.
3. Pandava's Foot Print: There are Foot prints on rocks, which are believed to be belongs to Pandavas. Local people will have pooja and prayer here during Dashara and Diwali time.
4. One tree Point: This is far away spot where there is only one tree on Rock. which is also again famous for shooting. Raja Hindustani kissing scene was shot at this place. One wondrous thing about the plateau is that despite fertile soil, nothing ever seems to grow here, except a lone tree. Hence this place become tourist place.
5. Valley Point: This is the point from where one can enjoy beauty of Panchgani Valley.

There are many boarding schools in Panchgani due to which this Village is called as Education Hub. Interesting fact is since it is educational hub there are no Movie theaters in this village.

The hype that this is the second largest plateau in Asia after Tibet is probably not true unless the reference is to the Deccan Plateau. It is a flat top six km round and not developed as a tourist trap. Possibly polo playing and horse riding representatives of the erstwhile British Raj favoured the place. Great for a morning walk else and that's it

Unique place to go in Panchgani.

There is tiger cave and lion cave. Either you can go to tiger cave from top of the tableland or from the lion cave to tiger cave amidst the scenery. Its a short walk.

There is small eatery at both the caves. Inside the tiger cave there is a small temple underground again less than 1 minutes.

It was a nice experience. Its cool inside the caves. Can order and sit inside the caves. Interesting experience.

On the tableland you can hire a horse cart for very short sightseeing points. They are regulated and better than hiring single horses for the family.

If you dont mind walking no need to hire anything. Just walk it out. It may take 1-2hrs walking and sightseeing.

Adequate toilet facilities are not there. Paid toilets near restaurants and not too good.

Wear a cap as its open area.

Table Land:
One of Asia's greatest mountain-top flatlands is Table Land, a 98-acre flat plateau that forms Panchgani's highest point. Mahabaleshwar, which is only a few kilometers distant, also boasts two flat areas, but neither is as large or as open as Panchgani's Table Land. Table Land offers unhindered sunrise and sunset views, sweeping valley views, and endless views of the beautiful fir trees.

Table Land is a popular Bollywood shooting spot. Many movies like Raja Hindustani, Mela, Taare Zameen Par, and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam are shot at this place. It is just walkable from the main Panchgani Market, but even though there is a proper motorable road, it is a steep climb.

Table land area has 5 points in total viz Table land, Shooting Point, Pandava's Footprints, Devil's Kitchen and One Tree Point.

To be honest it is just a flat land and dirt! Nothing else!
