Fantastic visit. It pays to do some good reading before you head to the caves. We picked up some local guides as help and it was better than having none for sure. But if one can get the approved ASI guides it is worth the small money invested as the caves suddenly become worth a million dollars when a guide... More

What's good Reach is easy. Take a regular bus from Aurangabad. Then a shuttle from base of Ajanta Caves to top. Highly organised management ensures crowd is managed with ease. Most amenities are at base as well as up at caves. Caves are well preserved. What's not good Summers are tough since the caves are over barren hills and pretty... More

Ajanta along with Ellora must be in ones 'must visit list', particularly so if you are an Indian. The sheer beauty of the Ajanta caves, its paintings, its sculptures will leave you awestruck. That this was done previously 2000 years before will surely leave you dumbfounded. This place, located approximately 60km from the nearest railhead, Jalgoan, will take approximately 3-4... More

I went to see Ajanta caves by Taxi from Aurangabad. I found a cell phone number of taxi driver in the forum, whom many praises a lot. So I took the chance and booked my taxi for a one day trip from Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves, waiting times at the caves and return. All together it was supposed to be... More

These are one of the most impressive structures I have seen thus far. One of the most impactful and memorable vacations I have taken. The details, colors, and sheer magnitude is just mind boggling given the time that the caves were constructed. Sunscreen is a must. Good walking shoes that can be slipped on and off easily are helpful. Once... More

It was good experience but being so hot hence not able to enjoy full. But still I will recommend everyone to visit Buddha caves and painting. Guides to be best negotiated and they will also not cover all caves. Last cave was awesome and guide was very good

This is one trip (Ajanta and Ellora -- do both!) that you can do in a weekend. The caves are gorgeous -- especially the Kailash Temple! It isn't arduous travel to get there, though you do have to be mobile to get around.

Ajanta caves are masterpieces of architecture and paintings of ancient India. The wall paintings from the ancient period are preserved here till date. Jakarta tales form themes of most of the paintings done here. Also, the sculpture work done here are marvellous. Buddha in different postures, different Buddhist disciples and Buddhist saints are depicted carved out of rock. You need... More

Just got tired all the caves look the same Nothing exceptional except for great historical background For people who can't walk much or senior citizens I wouldn't suggest The place is very uneven with lots of walking and stairs and walking on uneven surfaces
