Absolute fantastic looking Fort in the middle of the Sea but when you step inside then you realise and think as to why you visited this Fort in the first place ! You need to spend more money and take risk in changing the boats. You will waste your atleast one to two hour in just changing the boats in... More

I visited the Murud Janjira fort on 29.12.2016. The fort looks beautiful from outside but inside there are only ruins and debris. Lot of dirt and littering is every where in the fort. The road to the jetty which takes boats to the fort is all full of litters. Even the history of the fort is not one which you... More

Usually, I am not a big fan of visiting forts as to me most of them look the same. But this fort took me by surprise. You need to approach the fort by boat as it is really inside the sea. It is truly an architectural marvel and one wonders how it was constructed. Now in complete ruins it still... More

This is said to one of the oldest and unconquered fort of its time. The concept of having a fort on an island is itself amazing. Place is good for people interested in historic places, for others its just a huge ruined fort. There are guides available to dictate it's history and charges 100 rs per person. It's better to... One of the strongest fort which could never be conquered. The fort is approachable only with sail boats in calm sea. Our visit was after monsoon and hence there was a lot of vegetation inside the fort. The history of fort needs to be understood with the help of guide. In general, a must visit fort.

Ticket cost was Rs. 61 for adult and 30 for child. They use small boat and 40-45 people. It is thrilling to sit in boat, the fort is in water and to get down on steps of fort is more risky. If you have small children or elder person, don't go. My daughter was very afraid because boat was not... More

It's a fort surrounded by sea from all side. You need to take a boat ride from Murud to reach this fort. The boat that takes you to the fort brings you back and you'll have approximately 1.5 hours to explore the fort. The fort is closed during the monsoon season. This fort was never conquered in war. The outer... More

visited this fort on 18th of June by an instant plan. Actually we didn't know that this fort will be closed in Monsoons. But to our luck the boats to the fort were operational. They will charge Rs:50/- each person and will give half hour of time in the fort and to return. This fort is an magnificent as it... More

When visiting the Harihareshwar from Mumbai, we decided to stop at Janjira fort for few hours on our way back to Mumbai. The fort has lot of history and built in the sea. The only way to reach the fort is through boat which are operated by local people of Murud. One can read details about the fort on WIKI... More
