One of the strongest fort which could never be conquered. The fort is approachable only with sail boats in calm sea. Our visit was after monsoon and hence there was a lot of vegetation inside the fort. The history of fort needs to be understood with the help of guide. In general, a must visit fort.

Ticket cost was Rs. 61 for adult and 30 for child. They use small boat and 40-45 people. It is thrilling to sit in boat, the fort is in water and to get down on steps of fort is more risky. If you have small children or elder person, don't go. My daughter was very afraid because boat was not... More

It's a fort surrounded by sea from all side. You need to take a boat ride from Murud to reach this fort. The boat that takes you to the fort brings you back and you'll have approximately 1.5 hours to explore the fort. The fort is closed during the monsoon season. This fort was never conquered in war. The outer... More

visited this fort on 18th of June by an instant plan. Actually we didn't know that this fort will be closed in Monsoons. But to our luck the boats to the fort were operational. They will charge Rs:50/- each person and will give half hour of time in the fort and to return. This fort is an magnificent as it... More

When visiting the Harihareshwar from Mumbai, we decided to stop at Janjira fort for few hours on our way back to Mumbai. The fort has lot of history and built in the sea. The only way to reach the fort is through boat which are operated by local people of Murud. One can read details about the fort on WIKI... More

we went with a group of 2 family consisting of 4 adults and 2 young kid ( less than 3 years ). its too hot hence ideal time is to visit during evening hours . the boat guys give a time frame of 45 mins to one hour which is less to go around this fort. yet that's sufficient due... More

This is sea fort and you can visit the place by boat only. We took boat from Rajapuri village. While going there it was toed by motor boat. We had waited for around 30-45 minutes as there was huge queue of boats for loading and unloading travellers and gate of the fort is also quite inside not visible from the... More

To be avoided at all cost. A town where I was told to be thrashed (with my unwell Wife and a 2 year old child) for challenging a statement/ quoted price ..... Please read on. 1. Mostly all reviews capture the marvel of the Fort but not many tell you some of the realities as the guides there are politely... More

This is the second best water fort after Vijaydurg. Though Vijaydurg is not inside water. Vijaydurg is my favourite. This fort is very old fort, its main door is almost hidden, you can find it only once you reach near to it. So much greenery is there on fort. Drinking water is available. You have to use small ships to... More

We drove from Kashid to see this unique fort owing to its inaccessibility by land. Looks lovely from distance however v poorly managed. 1. The road from Kashid to Janjira is shattered and v narrow. 2. There are long queues for the boat ride to the Fort. It can get very very hot standing in hours for the boat ride.... More
