This temple is a Hindu temple in eatern group of temples of Khajuraho. The temple sits on a high and grand platform considering the relatively small size of the temple. The temple is in excellent condition, surprising considering this temple is well off the main tourist circuit in Khajuraho. The temple is richly decorated with almost full relief sculptures of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The inside and sanctum are small. It’s almost as equally ornate as the exterior, just with less. Inside the sanctum is the idol Vishnu, albeit headless.

This temple comes under eastern group of Khajuraho temples under ASI. It has well maintained garden and boundary. This temple was built by Kirtivarman around 1075 - 1100 AD. This temple consists of ardh mandapa, maha mandapa and sanctum. This temple is Nirandhara Prasada type meaning it has no pradakshina around sanctum. It is built on a lofty terrace. Architectural design is very beautiful. Its outer wall has 3 bands of sculptures of gods and goddesses. Its sanctum is studded with 4 handed image of VISHNU. Ceiling has 9 planet structure. This temple has very few erotic images.
There is no entry fees.

The temple is huge from the outside and covered in intricate carvings that one cannot imagine was even possible close to 1,100 years ago. To imagine, that this place was covered in overgrowth and unknown to it's residents for hundreds of years is just unfathomable to my mind. This whole area is sheer beauty and must be seen to be believed.

The guidebooks say that it is an architectural gem, and it is. Set in what would have been lush green fields if the villagers and their buffalos had not despoiled the environs, the temple itself and the handkerchief sized lawns around it were nevertheless the cleanliest anywhere in the world. The temple itself had a makara-torana and some really superb frescoes. There is just one man taking care of the whole place and we made it a point to appreciate his work.

Among the temples of the Khajuraho "Eastern group", this is probably the most impressive. It is enclosed within a fence, and surrounded by a small, well-kept garden, where you can admire among other things the plumerias, with their fragrant flowers.
The impressive front porch is significant, extending over two thirds of the length of the temple, and is decorated by an arc in the form of a stylized crocodile.
In my opinion the temple sculptures are at the level of the most elaborate in the great temples of the Western group.
Like in most of the temples of this area, the surrounding countryside - although plagued in different points by scattered garbage - is attractive as for the landscape; perhaps even more so in the rain (as happened to us). In particular, a group of cattle that sought refuge from the rain under a large tree seemed to me a scene worthy of the landscape paintings of Claude Lorrain.

Javeri Temple follows the structure and tradition of famous temples of Khajuraho. Most of the temples in Khajuraho are known for their erotic images and excellent structure. This temple is located near Vamna temple at Khajuraho village (actual old village of khajuraho) and has good images of erotic sense. The temple is believed to be built between 1075-1100 AD.
