Lakshmana temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and one is allowed after removing slippers/shoes. Various incarnations of Lord Vishnu can seen in the artistic sculptures with other God/Goddess. The sculptures are so well carved resembling real muscles and bone like structures. The sunset gave a golden glow to the greatly and uniquely sculpted towers.

I have to write this over and over again. All the temples are awesome in Khajuraho and they have been maintained very well (considering the attacks they faced in the 15-16th century).

All the temples in the complex are very well preserved. The carvings are sharp with little deterioration. It rivals, if not exceeds the beauty of other temples around the world.

It is amazing what was sculptured almost 1100 years ago. People and artists who sculpted these statues were able to put expression in the eyes of horses and elephants too. You will need time to examine these details.
