We had a local guide who gave us an extremely detailed history of this World Heritage Site. Very interesting but almost too much information, and we were beginning to become overwhelmed. If you have ever had that happen, and we have had that happen before, you realize you must switch gears so to speak. This site is a very large... More

We visited the western group of temples. Our train arrived at 5am that morning from Varanasi and we were at the temples well before its opening time so it wasn't very crowded when we entered and managed some sunrise shots as well Our guide shared a lot on information on the temples and the various sculptures adorning it. We spent... More

Vers well kept site. The buildings are in top shape. Go at the earliest time, it gets hot and busy. Do download the free government audioguide it is very good. There were no other audioguides available at the entrance.

The Tantra temples in Khajuraho are not to be missed. Absolutely stunning and breathtaking. Be sure to take your time exploring and looking at all of the detail. If you like, you can even hire a guide onsite - just be sure to bargain for the cost. The ground are meticulously kept and it's nice to go early in the... More

Nothing much to describe about the temples or the architecture around the same. It's already popular amongst the entire world for its tantric sculptures. The entrance to this place is full of people claiming themselves to be the guides of the temples. It's better to consult the ticket booth Or the police booth for getting the authentic guide. Once inside... More

If you drive from Panna, be ready for very bad road. But you will pass Pandav Falls and national park with great canyon - best after rains when both are full of water. I remember Khajuraho 40 years ago - small village with some temples now in western group, no shops, no accomodation - very much different from now. After... More

These wonderful sculptors are a must see for every one anywhere in the world. The eroticism apart one needs to appreciate the art and the history to go with it. Great place to see.

As other reviews have stated, the figures, with the girls painting on makeup, the fat architect teaching his students, the dancing and the singing, are lovely. But the elephants are so exquisite- and on one temple each of hundreds is different, and they wear chains and saddles and flower decorations and all so beautifully done! Then there are the war... predating those temples of Siem Reap a visit here is very interesting. The quality of the carving on the temples is very high and you will not be disappointed regarding the figures either. Karma Sutra indeed! A good guide is essential to get the best out of your visit .

The temples are very beautiful and the complex is very well maintained. Guide is a must, else you would miss the details and stories behind the various sculptures. Hassle free visit, even during the peak season of Khajuraho Dance Festival. Loved every bit of 3 day stay at Khajuraho.
