This temple is dedicated to the sun god Surya. It’s very similar to the adjacent Devi Jagdamba. The main thing I liked about this temple is the better preserved relief sculptures of surasundari, or the Hindu understanding of an idealized female form.

Quite a sizeable part of the temple has been renovated. People say that the top dome of the structure was destroyed after a lightning strike. The temple is dedicated to Surya (sun). It is also in the western cluster of temples.

As usual the sculpture needs to be appreciated. There is a big Surya on 7 Horses. Surya is as big as a normal person, may be 5 feet or more. I think the 11 headed Vishnu is seen in this temple. Not only dasavathara but one more head. Better to ask for this sculpture from a guide or other tourist and see it.

We visited this unique temple located in the Western Group of Temples at Khajuraho during our recent trip there.
The Chitragupta Temple is the only temple in the whole of Khajuraho dedicated to the Sun God (Surya). Located north of the Jagadambi Temple it is on the same platform as the Kandariya Mahadev and Jagdambi Temples.
The temple is very similar to the Jagadambi temple in that it has a sanctum with a circumambulatory path, a vestibule, a maha-mandapa and an entrance porch. The hall has an ornate ceiling which is its greatest draw. The temple has two balconies while the ascending roof is not as impressive as that of the other larger temples in Khajuraho. In the sanctum, is a very attractive idol of God Surya riding a chariot, drawn by seven horses. Three similar figures are also carved on the lintel of the doorway.
The exterior walls of the temple are covered with couples in erotic poses, nymphs of the Sun God and a 11-headed Vishnu sculpture. This sculpture shows Lord Vishnu in his supreme form with his 10 incarnations. This is a rare representation and is not seen anywhere else.
The temple is a MUST VISIT.

I went to Chitragupta Temple. The presiding deities is riding a chariot with seven horses. The exterior walls of the shrine have carvings of several gods and erotic couples. The site is popular among tourists and devotees alike. It is great place to go.

According to the ASI, this temple is similar to 'Jagadamba' temple. The main image in the sanctum is that of Surya standing in a chariot driven by seven horses. Although it looked more like 'Suryanarayana', it is tough to make a distinction due to the ruined idol.
The temple has "the carvings of some of the finest figures of sura-sundaris, erotic couples and gods including eleven headed Vishnu in the centre niche of the south facade" according to the ASI.
The architecture is a marvel.
