This temple is one of the western group of Khajuraho temples. You must have a guide to make the most of this UNESCO site.
The temple is beautifully decorated and is set in a pleasant parkland setting near other temples.
If you are in Khajuraho you have probably come to see the temples. I recommend them.

A low parapet wall forms the side of the Temple , here we can sit on the soft smooth stone and admire the Giant Sculpture of Varaha. Under the Pyramidal roof stands an enormous monolithic Giant Sculpture of the Varaha.

"Varaha" The boar incarnation of Vishnu, lord of preservation. The image is made out of a single block of stone .
The stone shines like metal and is one of the most unusual sculptures Khajuraho. Varaha stands firm on all four feet, and near his front feet are the remains of a lovely pair of female feet where once stood the figure of the graceful earth goddess.

Just a incredible work of carving and architecture , with very perfect way.....
made in c. 900–925 AD like more then 1000 years old.. situated in Eastern Group of temples..

The Varaha Temple enshrines a colossal monolithic image of Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In hindu , Varaha is the third Avatar of the Lord Vishnu, in the form of a Varaha.

The statue of Varaha is 2.6 m long and 1.7 m high The sculpture is colossal and monolithic and made of sandstone. The sculpture is carved with numerous figures on its entire body. The sculpture carved between nose and mouth, depicts goddess (of Saraswati) carrying Veena in her arms.

This temple is dedicated to the araha or boar form of Vishnu. I remember this because the representation of Varaha is purely in animal form and the first time I’ve seen such a depiction rather than the anthropomorphic form. Other than that, the temple is a rather modest rectangular form with open plan of roof and plinth separated by columns.

This temple is amongst the first you’ll see as you enter the archaeological complex, so it’s worth a quick detour as a hors d'oeuvres before the main temples.

The Varaha temple is dedicated to the boar reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. On first look, the idol looks like an Elephant, but on closer inspection you realise that it is a boar. The temple is part of the Western temple complex and you can visit it by paying a common entry fee
