ENJOY the experience
Feb 2019 • Friends
We went to Santosh Ashram follwing the suggestion of our friend.we had the lucky to be in a small course.this permitted us to recive a really tailored yoga course.
We made a really good frienship with Santosh, is a really experienced yogi l, spiritual man and generous person, even if we had some cultural misunderstanding defintely suggest the TTC yoga over there. NAMASTE Santosh🙏 AND See you soon.

proper HATHA yoga
Nov 2017 • Solo
KASI YOGA is located 10 min away from helipad and north cliff, perfectly away from the commercial vibe and close enough to walk for morning class (plus beautiful way through the temples).
ttc, yoga, parnayama, meditation and cooking classes are available. Also possible to participate in the echo friendly way of living with shared accommodation. Best water you can find in India :)
Santosh is an experienced attentive teacher and a very wise person. his patience allows students and future yogis to make a meaningful development, each in their own time and point of progress. His broad knowledge of Hatha yoga will be suitable for beginners, intermediate and teachers. Will recommend to advise with him on the progress you want to make, or any health issues you have to get the best answer to your needs.
in my opinion this place will be very suitable for a small group that want to study together.
Outside Kasi yoga you will find 2 local restaurants and 1 organic juice and spices shop. chai available from early morning.
Best teacher I had! Highly recommended.

Very disappointed about the YTTC, tired and non interested teacher, who is angry at his students if they asking challenging questions about yoga. The food that were served to all of us was very cheap and lackinging in variety, not to mention cooked in a very unhygienic kitchen. The yoga classes was good at first but the teacher(kasi) felt less interested in us as the time passed and we didnt get much help or feedback. I would not recommend anyone to pay that amount of money to Kasi yoga when you can get much more from your money elsewhere.

you had choice to leave any day, if you had bad experience over all, why did you decided to stay for one month? obviously it was not about the place, food or person. something else. and do not try to mislead travelers writing false comments, its a bad karma. be a truthful and honest person, if you are believing the path of yoga and respecting other culture. thanks and good luck

Dont do YTTC here!
Mar 2017 • Solo
My 200hr YTTC course at kasi yoga was not as i excpected. I paid $1750 and not even filtered water was included in the price. The yogateacher who is also the host was not commited to teach and i felt as he was not interested at all in us students who came across the globe to learn from him. When having our own yoga classes for teacher learning purpose, he was barley attendant therefore we didnt got any kind of feedback or help. We never had any tests/exams written or spoken, and no anatomy & physiology classes.
The local woman who is cooking two meals a day for the students was wonderful but the hygiene in the kitchen was below standars and very poor and dirty.
The yoga classes went shorter day by day and our last and final class was for 45 minutes. Do your YTTC somewhere else since the yoga alliance criterias for YTTC are not met at Kasi yoga.

Don't expect to learn too much
Mar 2017 • Solo
In march I did the 200 hour teacher training at Kasi Yoga.
I experienced Santhosh as a competent (traditional) but barely motivated yoga teacher. The classes were nice but got shorter every day (starting with 90, ending with not more than 40 minutes on our last days). Within our self-taught classes (every one of us gave a couple of classes for the others) he was sometimes lying on the floor with closed eyes, sometimes doing his own exercises in the back but most of the time not attendant at all. In that way we never really got any type of feedback.
Don’t expect to learn something about anatomy (he will only hand out some sheets), about teaching tools (how to run a class) or modificating classes (supportive tools,…) - but you will get a nice book ;)
Anyways, although we were told regularly that we wouldn’t even be able to answer 5 out of 50 possible examination questions we all got our certificates without being tested in any way…
The food is prepared freshly in the morning; dinner is cooked at noon and you have to heat it yourself.
In case you still want to join the program, here are some tips:
Don’t send the 200 dollars in advance as he can’t deal with his online banking account and will make you go crazy.
Make sure not to leave your stuff around (especially on you last day(s)) as it could be thrown.
If you want a coconut from one of the trees in the garden – it’s 25 rupees per piece.

You want to learn Yoga seriously? Come to Kasi Yoga!
Nov 2016 • Solo
My best Yogic experience ever! I stayed for the 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training at Kasi Yoga in Varkala. My intention was to get a better understanding of the tradition, philosophy and techniques of Hatha Yoga.

But what I received and gained was far more than my expectations. Santhosh, the teacher, is a wonderful person who knows how to handle his students in a very experienced and very good way. Yoga is a very individual practice - this approach follows Santhosh.

In total I stayed more than 4 weeks at the wonderful house, with this amazing garden. You can watch many birds here as well as mungos. Amazing nature around!

Specially I would like to mention the delicious, healthy food. A full meal every breakfast and dinner, and during day a fresh made juice / smoothie, fresh fruits or snack. Of course it's also possible to eat out at the cliff.

To the Varkala cliff/beach it's about 20-25 min by foot. Or 15 min by bicycle which I could use for free.

Santhosh helped me a lot whenever I need something (information about transportation, shopping, ATM, Ayurveda treatments etc.). Also I learned a lot about Indian culture through our talks and trips to nearby temples.

The Kasi Yoga place offers also accommodation for non-Yogis who simply want to enjoy a peaceful stay. In addition short yoga and meditation courses are possible as well as drop in classes (normally 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. - But better call before).

If you really want to know more about the yogic tradition and learn to practice - don't miss this place! Highly recommended.

Do not go there! The way of teaching is not save!
Sep 2016 • Solo
I came to Kasi Yoga for TTC 200 hours. In the middle of the course teacher forced me into one of hand balances then pull my legs to much despite I said that I was in pain and asked him to stop. Next day I woke up with pain in my right shoulder and numbness in right hand from elbow to finger tips. Santhosh refused to pick me up to the city, where I was able to buy some medicine. So, I had to change my plans and go back home to see the doctor. I told Santhosh about it. He refuced to give any money back (I paid in advance for TTC and accommodation for 36 days). I spent there only 17 days, but he did not give any money back, even for accommodation. So, please, be careful with this guy! He cheated me, now I am at home with spine injury without certificate and money.
