You should ideally hire a 2 wheeler for 1 day to visit all the places near Varkala. And this lighthouse must be on that list. It is only open for 2 hours every evening (I think between 1530-1730) so plan accordingly. It's about 200 steps...More

It one of the many lighthouses dotting the Arabian sea. It is worth once watching. But, you may not get a fantastic view from the top.

If you are planning to visit, do it after lunch. Its strictly 3-5 in the afternoon. The views from the top are awesome. The climb itself is a bit challenging and a look down can be chilling!

The lighthouse is 40mts in height with around 11 floors, and is around 13kms from the Varkala beach area, but is worth paying a visit. The view from the top of the lighthouse is awe inspiring.

Nice lighthouse in good condition. Great view from the top over a sea of palm trees and the actual sea. It's right next to Anjengo fort - good to combine both.
