Good beach and people come here to do the last rites of their departed family members. You can walk the whole length of the beach to either the north or south cliff.

A little more crowded amongst beaches in Varkala, but still a good visit. Should be a little more maintained. One of the famous beach.

Compare to other beaches, this is crowded place. Usually last ride rituals are going on this beach. Food stalls are vailable.

It be nice if you book a hotel near the Papanashanam beach where you intend to perform the rituals. The public toilet is not good and I would not suggest it. The beach is always crowded. Please book a hotel for one day... More
