We totally endorse all of the previous reviews. We were not pressurised at all to make any purchases but when we asked for advice, it was beautifully presented and crystalline clear.

We. Made some fantastic purchases at fixed prices - bliss.

The whole experience was very positive. This shop sells high quality products and the owner is charming. We had a great discussion about the world, business and technology as well!

If you only want rubbish souvenirs then the beach is a better bet. For high quality, Shalimar is a must.

Very charming polite gentleman is the owner. He has a great taste for Sufi music.I shopped beautiful jewellery from here. But the most memorable experience will be the warm hearty conversation with the owner about this humble and beautiful life and people's faith in it.Surely enlightening interactions.Best wishes.

I was so satisfied by my experience at Shalimar Weaves I went back a second time. Zahoor is a kind, patient man who will help you make a decision without any pressure. He even helped me with generic India queries. The store is competively priced and top quality. No haggling. No hassling. I urge anyone in Varkala to stroll by this shop and have a look. You won't he disappointed

Superb quality, fixed prices, a must to shop 'hassle free'. Pashminas at around 100 USD, cheaper yet beautifule silk for less than 50 USD. Charming and knowledgeable owner

After being ripped off at the cliff, I went to Shalimar Weaves to buy a scarf. The owner is very nice and explained every different kind of material and quality.
The prices are fixed and very reasonable for the quality you get.
You cannot go wrong at Shalimar Weaves.
Greetings.

If you are in the market for gorgeous Kashmiri pashminas or unique, fine hand-crafted jewelry, do not miss this shop. But even if you aren't, I would recommend stopping by to have tea with the owner and operator, Zahoor John. I met Zahoor upon my arrival in Varkala, across the street from his shop before I knew anything about it -- I did not even set foot in it until the last day of my five-day stay. It is indeed a beautiful boutique. But more important, Zahoor is a very decent, kind and honest man whose chief concern is that you feel welcome in Varkala and enjoy your time there. I now consider him a dear friend. And if you are interested in purchasing high-quality Indian handicrafts, you can do no better than here, guaranteed. Zahoor knows his stuff and is committed to providing his customers with products of the utmost quality at fair prices. His recent TripAdvisor award attests to his exceptional customer service. Meeting him was a highlight of my visit to Varkala.

This is a high quality shop selling much higher quality scarves and jewellery than anywhere else in Varkala. The owner leaves you alone and encourages you to look at everything you want. My friend bought a top quality pashmina which was pricier than she was expecting to pay (but still one tenth of what she would have paid in Liberty, the only place in London with goods of this standard) and the owner told her if she changed her mind, she could return it for a full refund next day. She didn't return it.
Everything is individually priced and we didn't bargain, value is good.

The pashminas are of a far higher quality than on the cliff and beautifully laid out - the staff will take as much time as you need displaying the different wraps and the shop is clean and air-conditioned - definitely worth a visit

We did a little bargaining for scarves at the shops by the beach to figure out what the price point for a pashmina is. But we don't enjoy haggling. We went to Shalimar Weaves based on Trip Advisor reviews and we were so happy! It is a quiet shop - to find it, ask the owner of the Juice Shack. They are friends and he'll show you the right turns to take. The prices were as good as what we found on the beach and he also had some beautiful jewelry. I was much happier shopping here than anywhere else in Varkala. Prices are as marked.
