Good place for people who are interested in water sports! Try Fly sports it should be easy to find if you are staying at Varkala or nearby.

Kappil lake is about 8 kms from Varkala and its offers a stunning view from the motor road. One hand the arabian sea and opposite side of the road is the vast Kappil lake. One can enjoy various types of water sports like rafting, kayaking and zorbing here.

Peaceful place and area. With newly added water activities became even more attractive. You can have snacks on the road or at the restaurant

Once you have seen all the sea from varkala this is one place which u can move on, which is not too far from varkala, where u can enjoy the kerala blackwaters..this place has got very nice views and boating is available for a nominal price through the lake. Worth a visit !!

Get a tutuk from the helipad if you are in Varkala - only costs about £3 each way From here you can see where the backwaters meets the sea with a strip in between. It is a quiet beach , not many cafes in the area so we took our own water and snacks. The lake has some boating activities,... More

If you want to feel the nature, that's it! Quiet long beach which meets beautiful lake at the other side. You can spend some time there on the beach and after take a boat for a small tour on the lake, visiting Golden island.

Kappil lake is beatiful as varkala is.Nice sceneries around the lake makes it more attractive.Boat service is also available

Kappil beach and lake are on either side of a road. Kappil lake is a vast lake with lots of jellyfish in it. If you like a calm ride in d water, get a boat ride at 1200 rupees for an hour. Get a rickshaw from the helipad if you are in Varkala - will cost you 300 rupees each way. I would estimate a few hours or half a day.
