The building is interesting, the animals not so much. There is a playground joining to the place, a bit retro, but the only one that we saw in Kerala.
The aquarium is situated by the Black sand beach, which isn't good or interesting at all.

This place has great potential especially being close to the lovely Varkala Beach. The varieties of fish are available are good and details are also well advertised. However a more visitor friendly approach and improvement of infra would make this one of the prime destinations in Varkala

Varkala aquarium is situated near black beach.aquarium is not much big and contains less number of species.entry price is rs 30 and one need to pay rs 10 extra for mobile camera.parking is free.spiral shape building contain different glass cubicles for different species of fishes.A 3d theatre is also there which needs to pay extra.we didnt use it so cant review about it

Do not waste your time and energy going to this aquarium. The building looks interesting and the view from its windows are great but their fish exhibits are just lousy. You’ll probably see more variety in a pet shop! If you do go there then please ask the auto/ taxi to wait as the visit will barely last 20-30min.

Manager!! Please put some rocks in the tanks, don't keep fish isolated or alone, the moray eel has no place to hide, it was so sad to see him trying to put his head under a pathetic rock. It was so depressing, I cried after I left.

It's on the beach side and that's a highlight. Defenitely worth spending few hours in the premises.

The aquarium adjoins the Black Beach. The displays are interesting and well maintained. It is accessible to the differently-abled as the walk up is on a spiral incline.

The aquarium is very cheap to enter but, in all honesty, you will see more fish if you go to a tropical fish shop in UK. I think it is more suitable for local people.

In case you can resist moving out of teh cliff. You can visit this aquarium. This is located near the helipad & is tidy too
