Shoe is OK. People are very rude. The entire team from front office to guys showing you seats are in human.

I booked for the show with my family. My wife was not well and the seat they gave us was next to speaker. I requested a change in seat. They just laughed and said not possible.

Lot of people were frustrated with their behavior. Am uploading the pics of the guys at front office

It was a nice experience to watch the trained kalari professionals displaying the ancient and the foremost form of martial arts which involved use of various equipments namely sword, shield, axe, long stick, flexible long sword, etc. The highlight offcourse was the last few performances that involved the use of fire where the professionals demonstrated awe-inspiring performances. Overall tge show time was 60 minutes abd at INR. 200 per person the time and money was well worth it. Recommended to include it in the itinerary.

Watchable if you dont expect too high.
The display of skills and techniques is okay. But seating is very bad .. they should not seat people on 4 sides.. seating along 2 sides (longer side) would have been better. Announcement is a night mare.. not clear and not correct too.. except these things Kalari show is worth a watch

To be honest, I was not very keen initially but went along with the family and my word, that was the absolute right decision. The venue is small but well maintained and importantly you get unobstructed views from every chair ( overcoming the mobile phones distraction).

In terms of the art (Kalaripayattu) and artists, dont think words can do justice as they have to be seen LIVE to be believed and enjoyed (Youtube videos don't do justice). Years of practice and expertise makes each and everyone of the artists absolutely joy to watch.

Mind blowing performances involving swords, sticks, fire rings etc. Highly recommend it for everyone who is visiting Thekkady. Kalaripayattu is an amazing ancient martial art form which is being kept alive by some of the most dedicated people, so dont miss out.

The Kathakali was terrible. They get tour operators to bring all their people there and waste everyone's time for an hour. No proper dance or presentation. Waste of Rs 200.

Also, I believe the artists are not paid properly by the management. Poor people, there was a donation box for the artists.

We visited the Kalari show only on the day of Dusshera this year. It was quite enjoyable with all the music and performances. I won't say all the performances were exceptional, there were couple of mediocre ones as well. But at the end of the show, you should have your money's worth. Special mention about the grandmaster whose every performance was a treat. We booked the tickets online, and got front row seats.
