A busy street encouraging street shopping. The SM street alias Mittai Theru is a bustling street in the heart of Kozhikode. The fare from Kozhikode beach to SM street would cost you INR 40/- in a autorickshaw. Lots of options to buy from clothes, shoes and sandals, bags etc, SM street also hosts some of the popular Kozhikode Halwa (Sweet Meat) shops. A good place to visit for a casual shopper and for those who are ok with the crowd madness

It’s a shopping market. You get regular stuff there. Only Shankaran bakery worth visiting as it’s government certified.

Busy street with many shops. Nothing remarkable about it. Vehicles not allowed in the street. Otherwise just like any other shopping street.

500 m northeast of the main Kozhikode railway station is SM (Sweet Meat) street. Nicknamed after a local delicacy (halwa) it is the city's most well known shopping street. I liked it mainly because the street is a pedestrian zone (though still some motorbikes go through) and there are covers to keep the sun away.

A trip to Kozhikode is never complete without shopping @ the SM street! Some of the old shops have been replaced with modern exteriors and interiors but the spirit of the place is still there; you will never regret visiting this awesome spot!

There is no such thing as the local people build up about this place. Very crowded and the salespersons are disturbing everyone when we walk through there. Even in Covid situation, the sales persons and several others are not even wearing the masks. This is a one year's experience that people of Kozhikode are not welcoming others from other place, especially people from south Kerala.

This place also known as Mittayi Theruvu is one of the popular places of Kozhikode. Here, we can have a wonderful shopping experience of sweets and dresses. Soft drink and juice shops are also here.
