Tali Maha Shiva Kshetram is a divine place filled with spiritual energy. The architecture and ambiance are mesmerizing, offering a serene atmosphere for devotees to connect with the divine. A must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual solace.

Now offers a new sitting area beside the pond, enhancing the serene ambiance. However, it's worth noting that they charge 100 rupees for videography and photography services.

Tali Sivan temple is divine, enchanting and fantastic experience.

You need to wear a dhoti without shirt to enter the temple (for men and boys)

For ladies, Indian traditional wear is allowed - chudidhar, saree

We visited this temple in the mid morning time and to the surprise there was the daily sriveli prayer happening - when the Lord is taken around the temple amidst drum beats. It was a wonderful experience to follow the priests and the parade

Overall a must visit place when in Kozhikode

Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple.

One of the very ancient siva temple. Very nice temple architecture and divine moolasthan of Lord Siva. You can see wonderful wooden sculpture before entering the main deity. You can have very nice and peaceful darshan of siva, parvathy, narasimha and krishna sannadhis. I am impressed and loved to visit again and I am sure you too like me. Don't miss it.

Embark on a culinary pilgrimage at Thali Temple, Kozhikode, steeped in history and flavor. The temple itself offers a serene atmosphere, and nearby, there's a sizable pond. Adjacent to the temple is a government school. Please note that the dress code strictly permits only dhotis; pants, lungis, etc., are not allowed.
From the railway station, it's a quick 2 km journey, while from the bus stand, merely 1.5 km.

Built during the 14th century (last renovation 1964) this Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva. It is located close to Mananchira square where the Zamorin palace was located (now a park). The palace did not survive the destruction after the Mysore rulers defeated the Zamorin dynasty, but the temple did.

The traditional Kerala architectural style is similar to that of the former palace and Mishkal mosque. More recently the tank in front of the temple has been upgraded and bronze relief panels have been added, depicting the history of the Zamorin clan.

I visited in the afternoon when the temple was closed and was aggressively approached by a beggar at the entrance demanding money. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside. There is a strict dresscode for Hindus. I did not feel welcome.

The main deity is Siva with krisha and narasimha on both sides outside the temple. This is the temple where the debate of Revathi Bhattathanam was held during Zamorins time. This temple used to be the centre stage for the knowledge outburst in ancinet northern kerala

The city of Calicut or Kozhikode is graced by the presence of the Tali temple located in the heart of the city. Believed to be installed by Lord Parasurama this temple is said to be more than 1500 years old. The temple reached its zenith during the reign of the Zamorins. Revathi Pattathanam festival is associated with the temple and is held during the month of Thulam (October- November). Adjoining areas houses the Zamorin's Higher secondary school, the temple pond, a Lord Ganesha temple. You will find a lot of vegetarian restaurants serving delicious vegetarian fare in the area surrounding the Tali temple. The Palada from Lekshmi sweets near the temple is famous and a must try.
