Serene, very well maintained, neat and clean. Half an hour drive from Malabar Christian College... Lot of small eateries around serving you mouth watering Kozhikode special snacks

Beautiful, serene beach. Now with the Blue Flag Certification, it’s Kerala’s pride. As per history, Vasco de Gama had landed in this beach and this began the Portuguese connection with Kozhikode and Malabar.

This has to be the best beach Kozhikode can offer! The waters are clean, the sands are clean, just perfect. It's a bit away from the mainland and maybe that's why the place is not much crowded, even in the weekends. But that's the best part- long stretch of clean beach without the crowd :)
This beach has to be on your list if you're in Kerala.

This was where Vasco Da Gama is supposed to have landed in India. Now it is a long stretch of beach with relatively calm waters. There is a Park and a resort nearby. Good place for a picnic.

This is the beach were Vasco De Gama first set his foot on Indian soil... So the Place has some Historic importance... Its a nice place to spent your evenings.... But the authorities should put in more effort as it could be molded into a really good tourist spot if slightly more importance is given to cleanliness and beautification... could see some tourist police there but they were merely spectators... With all this is a must visit place if you are in Calicut/ Kozhikode...

one of the quieter beaches in the area..with only a few families and youngsters around
the views are very nice... I tried getting there by public transport and had to get off the bus at thiruvangoor, form where an autorickshaw took me to the beach for 30 rupees ( although its just a little over one km) .. not many options for eating around here, but I guess there would be more there were more people... maybe its better this way... the locals were very friendly

Usually a beach vacation means lying in shack for whole day sipping your favorite drink and swimming . If that is what you are looking for this is not the place. Extremely limited options for food and beverages
The beach is rocky and steep, so swimming is not advised. It has only one govt controlled beer and wine parlor, as the name says you would get limited options for beer and wines but no hard drinks. Couple of decent resorts , thats all. The seaside is well decorated with lights etc but huge power cuts makes it useless.
Overall, if you go to kozhicode or waynad , think of going there to spend a lazy calm afternoon.
Thats all. Nothing more!

We visited the Kappad beach during our 2-day stop in Calicut. We liked it very much due to its historical meaning and also to the fact that it was uncrowded, clean, very big, and you could freely take a bath or sunbath (despite false expectations about the local people). The village is so serene and tropical, people are very friendly and warm, they (and especially the children) put a smile on our faces every time. We recommend walking in the village as well, it is an experience worthwhile along the beach.
It's easy to reach by bus from Calicut (and also very cheap), people try very much to help even if they speak less English, it was one of the places in India where we felt like locals.
A special place if you wish to go off the beaten tourist track.

Good place for get-together.
Awesome atmosphere.
Vascode Gama who landed here for first time in India. An historical place. It's an clean beach better than Calicut beach. 45 minutes journey from the main Calicut city.

Though I think these kind of questions should not be asked here, I'm going to give you a very simple answer for the question.
Vasco da Gama came through sea route from Portugal to India, through a ship. I m not sure of the exact route he took and how many days he took to reach
