Friends
After two years, I was back at Ayurdara for a four week treatment .
With the invitation letter from Dr Subhash, I easily got my e-medical visa . Filling up the Air Suvidha form online was simple thanks to the informations given by Ayurdara on its website (this must be done from a PC with Windows, the form cannot be submitted from neither any iOS device, nor any Android one).
The taxi driver booked by Dr Subhash was waiting for me at the airport, and what a pleasure to reach Albin’s Glory after all this time. How nice it was to see them all again.
I got very good and efficient treatments, followed and adjusted after the daily morning consultation with Dr Subhash, Dr Jyotsna or Dr Visakh.
The whole team was really paying attention to our well being and health security, everyone being vaccinated and wearing masks.
The foods were delicious, tasty and the peaceful atmosphere made my stay so enjoyable.
After this 28 day treatment, I reached my goal, I feel much better, and will for sure come back next year.

Finally, medical visas were being awarded as e-visas, and the Ayurdara clinic opened again. I couldn’t wait to come.
Unfortunately, Air India welshed. They lied and kept my money. I had to buy a new ticket, with another company, of course.
I chose Emirates - good choice, with an interesting stopover in Dubai, a place certainly worth visiting.
On arrival, all passengers were required to take a PCR test, free of charge, while still at the airport. The same morning, somebody from the Ministry of Health called to make sure that I had arrived as planned. Two of the doctors came to see me and told me about the required protocols, especially the mandatory, 7-day quarantine during which I was not to leave the compound. Since that includes the residence, Albin’s Glory, the beautiful, new clinic building and the surrounding gardens on the backwater, it was not hard to do, and being there was the purpose of my visit anyway.
Safety protocols are taken seriously by everybody: all personell wear masks, surfaces are routinely cleaned and sanitized, all requirements are observed. Patients are given a herbal tonic to boost the immune system and a homeopathic remedy to help prevent contagion.
Dr. Subhash and his wife Jancy are still there, of course, as well as the other doctors and the therapists, Kamal the yoga teacher, friendly Jaison and his team of cooks and helpers. I invite you to read my previous review of August of 2019.
The Ayurdara clinic is a Panchakarma center (look it up) in a modern, recently built house constructed according with the traditions of Hindu architecture. The treatment is fantastic. Before the lockdown, they used to be booked solid for weeks in advance.
For those who have been here before: The ferry to Fort Kochi is running again, shops over there are beginning to reopen. The big places in Ernakulam, like the Lulu Mall or Seematti, the pharmacies, food markets, supermarkets and some others, were not closed.
The vegetarian, sattvic food prepared every day by professional cooks is still delicious. The whole place has a peaceful atmosphere. The fishermen, who come early in the morning to fold their nets (but remain in the water, without entering the compound), add a charming note to the mixture. (See my Instagram: manuelmyv).
So, as I said two years ago: a serious, pleasant place, safe and quiet.

I have been three times to Ayurdara and Albin’s Glory (with my husband, alone and with my sister) and each time I have come back with a heightened sense of well-being.
Getting the treatment at Ayurdara and staying at Albin’s Glory offer a very special experience. It’s a beautiful Ayurveda retreat near Cochin in Kerala. Both the treatment offered by the team of doctors and the house in which you stay bring you to have a wonderful balanced state of body, mind and spirit. Doctor Subhash, his son and daughter -in -law (all qualified Ayurveda doctors) and his lovely wife, work together to help you find a sense of mental and physical well-being. After daily individual conversations with one of the highly professional and gentle doctors, you are assigned a series of treatments. The kindness and tenderness of the staff are healing and touching. Each treatment is closely followed up by your doctor and the results and benefits are discussed together. The sense of well-being I immediately feel comes not only from the body but also from the inside: one feels calmly energized, at ease, in peace.
The next benefit comes from living in a beautiful old house surrounded by a lush tropical garden literally floating near water. The day starts with yoga lessons taught by a friendly young man. Plentiful and delicious vegetarian food is served on a long table in the garden under a thatched roof (breakfast and lunch); the evening meal is taken inside at a communal table. I enjoy meeting the other guests who come from all over the world. You can interact as much or as little as you wish.
A major highlight is Jason, part owner and manager of the house. It’s always very much a delight to talk to him for his knowledge, patience and humour are endless. Jason will also help organize outings (last time the whole group went in several tuk tuks to watch a breathtaking religious ceremony in a nearby village).
And, finally, I should mention the very gracious staff, who all help to maintain a sense of tranquility.
I always leave with a strong sense of optimism and peace. I must also add that my backache has completely disappeared.
Many heartfelt thanks to everyone at Ayurdara and Albin’s Glory. I can’t wait to come back in March and stay for a longer period in such an idyllic place.

Dr. Subhash and his wife Jancy lead a team of highly qualified doctors and therapists, with daily consultations, special massages and herbal medicines.
Most of us stay in Albin‘s Glory, the Homestay upon the Backwater, where friendly Jaison manages a team of eight cooks and helpers.
Every morning, you can assist to Kamal‘s therapeutic Yoga lesson before breakfast.
Weather permitting, breakfast and lunch are served al fresco in a thatched roof gazebo, dinner is always inside to escape the mosquitos.
A tuk-tuk or uber will bring you quickly to the ferry to Fort Cochin, or over the bridges to Ernakulam.
Of course, you can go north to the lonely beach of Kuthupally.
If you are looking for serious Ayurvedic treatment, enjoying a peaceful and green environment, with everything at a very reasonable price, I certainly can recommend this clinic and homestay in Vypin island.

My visit to Ayurdara was absolutely a highlight of my time in Cochin. It is located in a very peaceful setting on Vypin Island (easily accessible by ferry from Ft. Cochin). They are warm and welcoming and I had the most incredibly Ayurvedic massage. I regret that I didn't have more time here. I will definitely visit again on a future trip to the area.

Dr Subhash, Jancy and the family at ayurdara make you feel cared for the moment you step through the door.
We combined 10 days of Ayurveda treatment with Dr Subhash with staying at Albins Glory.
The care from the staff at Ayurdara and the food and staff at Albins made our treatment stay very special and memorable. We we very sad to leave.
We were picked up every day in a tuk tuk to go for treatment to the clinic which is a short trip away. Every day you have a consultation prior to your treatment. Treatment is prescribed Ayurvedic massarge with 2 therapists. The doctors prescribe Ayurvedic medicine for the duration which you usually take after every meal.
We met some fantastic people at Albins who have been coming back to see Dr Subhash every year for 10 years from Germany. The proof is right here.
We will definitely come back. This is a hidden gem.
Thank you Dr Subhash, Jancy, the Family and Jason at Albins for making our stay so memorable.

It was my first Ayurveda experience and I was looking for an authentic kur. This here would highly recommended from a good Indian friend who is very familiar with it. And what I mostly liked was that they really vote on your needs! You have everyday first a consultation how you feel and after the treatment. You get picked up with a tuktuk to the center and the guesthouse where you stay is by the lake, calm located and the ladies prepare awesome food! not what westerns usually like, maybe too much sugar. No authentic, just healthy food and you get full on a good way. I have water retention on my leg and noticed a big change day by day. At the end you get instructions for home, that you can easy continue. It's a family business and it's such a lovely family. I like to come back.

Affected by a neurodegenerative disease since 14 years I had no choice but to deal with this terrible disease with the usual allopathic treatment, namely to take more and more drugs and to suffer more and more invasive side effects.
After a 3-weeks cure in Ayurdara I regained autonomy I had lost, I found back fine motor skills and flexibility of my movements, while reducing allopathic drugs by half. It's a big victory over the disease!
The long flight to go was a hard time for me, on the return everything was easy.
I highly recommend Ayurdara center for anyone who needs to relax or to cure whatever the nature of the problem is. Competence, medical professionalism and attention are at the rendez-vous in both places Ayurdara and Albin's Glory the guest house.
I will be back in 6 months.
Thank you and all my warm friendship !!

The weather until end of February will be cool with sunny days. From March it starts to get hotter and in April the usual temperature is always above 30 degrees, with occasional rain. Please check ayurdara website for the price details.

7 am yoga (if you wish), then breakfast. During the morning patients are called to the clinic for consultation with the doc and treatment by the therapists. 1 pm lunch, then you are free in the afternoon. Dinner at 6:30 (if memory serves) but they leave the food on the table for you if you happen to go out and come home later.
Besides panchakarma they give you remedies as you may need them. You can write to Dr. Subhash, who will surely answer your questions accurately.
