    Elite tours. Absolute gentleman
This place really is a must visit. Along with the streets that run parallel, this is a real little gem full of cafes and art shops and restaurants. Eat and drink local produce while viewing local artists works and browsing the beautiful architecture. Also on this street is ELITE TOURS, run by a guy called Peter Able, who organised several trips for us and changed money at a decent rate. The trips were cheap and exactly as described, the driver ALWAYS turned up on time and all in all everything he organised ran like clockwork. Do not listen to earlier criticism of him (someone complaining that he charged a whole £4 for using his services to book tickets! It’s a business, he is not doing it for nothing!) He is an absolute gentleman who will do anything for you with a smile on his face that is warm and genuine

    Princely Street Art
Princess Street is a pleasant precinct to take it slowly and stroll around looking in the quaint shops and cafes. And if you’re all done with browsing, or shopping is not your thing, head to the laneways and back alleys for some unique and interesting street art. There’s also some fine houses to admire.

    MOST TOURIST-FRIENDLY AREA IN COCHIN
Situated near the Jawahar Park in Fort Kochi, Princess Street is one of best area of Cochin, where the Heritage has been preserved. It is for insistence of one of my friends of Kolkata, we visited this Street. We found this is a very tourist-friendly area of Cochin, with lots of Internet Cafes, Restaurants and Gift Shops. We purchased some gift-items for our friends in Kolkata, and found the prices are very much reasonable and comparable to the prices in other areas of Cochin.

Our hotel was on Princess street so we got to walk it and enjoy it many times. Many lovely stores with souvenirs and clothes. Old Jewish merchant house is very interesting as it has a connection corridor between two buildings.
Safe to walk even at night.
Retained the climate of old Kochi - Indian but with European touch.

One of the oldest streets in Kochi, Princess street is lined with European style houses. The facades are often 'Indianized', but still the ambience is rather distinct from other parts of town. Many shops and businesses like hotels and restaurants are geared to tourists. Price levels are higher as well, though by Western standards what is on offer is often still good value.

Not my favourite part of town, as travelling all the way to South India to visit a place closest in style to the West, is not what I came for. My Indian firends loved the place.

Princess street has nothing special besides some hotels and restaurants. Nice if you are hosted nearby, specially off season.

Since I was here 4 years ago, the building in the photo has been painted. There were portraits of the original family members, a Jewish merchant family who owned the home. It’s a nice, small hotel now, but they have not kept the mikveh intact, as I had seen it.
The street is good for shopping. Nice clothing stores and you can buy a Barbie doll dressed in Indian clothing.
