Thank you very much for visiting our ancient Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, built by the Portuguese. The beautiful mural paintings were done by Fra Antonio Moscheni, an Italian Painter from Bergamo, North Italy. May God bless you abundantly. I did not go inside, but the square is amazing! Although it was touristic season, I was completely alone there. Check my photos!

Nice place to just go, sit, and admire the inside of the basilica. Free to enter, we visited as a family and spent around 30 minutes inside. It's centrally located so easy to get to or call at on a day out.

Church is nice and architecturally beautiful. We started our trip in the Kochi with this place. This is also on the way to the Kathakali Centre & Beach, so one can spend some time to enjoy the peace over here.

This Church is quite pretty with beautiful architectural design. We spent some time inside enjoying the peace and calmness that one experiences at religious places. This church is also very close to the kathakali center so you can knock off two tourist attractions in one go.

Last day of our stay in Cochin we decided to do some sight seeing in the Fort Kochi area. We selected the Santa Cruz Basilica. It was a nice experience visiting this old church. A simple and modest church we could spend a few quiet minutes. A must place to visit

You visited St Mary's Basilica, in Ernakulam. In Cochin there are three Basilicas, the oldest one is Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, Fort Cochin, in old Portuguese section of the City of Cochin, known as Fort Cochin, because there was a Portuguese-built Fort Manuel in that area. The second one is St Mary's Basilica, belonging to the Syro-Malabar Oriental Catholic Church.... More
