Folklore Museum aims to provide art education to the students and helping to provide visual and academic knowledge to the art lovers, researchers and travelers from all over the world. Folklore museum is the only architectural museum in Kerala and the treasure trove of stone, wood and bronze sculptures, ancient terracotta, stone Age objects, jewellery, paintings, oil lamps, musical instruments, tribal and folk art, wood works, utensils, masks and traditional art forms etc. these are around 4000 artifacts from tiny to large size on display. This ethnic museum is the essence of the life and culture of the common man over the past 1000 years.

The place might look small but has a lot of antiques in sculptures and other stuff. A lot of stuff from thousands of years back. A good place to know the local history.

It's a collection of antiques and organises cultural shows. One can also buy antiques from here as well.Good information about the articheture stone carving etc are the attractions.kathakali shows are arranged as per booking and have theater facilities.

All the things are expensive inside the musuem..not to buy anything from museum... cz of tourist place the prices are high..

Lots to see. Could be labelled and arranged better. Like most similar sites, the products sold in their shop are heavily over priced compared to the city.

This is a great place to get a taste of Kerela. They have many artifacts and art pieces. Some are labeled quiet well and are attended to. The museum could work on adding more information to all the pieces so that foreigners can get a full in site of each piece. Staff was friendly and helpful, but can tell they... More

Nice museum with alot of art, history, culture, antiquitiez and even more. Great staff very informant and well placed plackards to tell you all about the artifacts. Personally reccomend this to everyone. Entry : 100 Rupees And if you want to take photos its an extra 100 Rupees.

Tip before going : wear a socks because u will take off your shoes otherwise will be dirty by the end of the tour. They have over than 5000 beautiful pieces so spare a good a mount of time to see them all. I wish that collection were in protected glass because most of the wooden pieces are dusty. If... More
