One of the biggest market hub in Mangalore City. There is news that it will be upgraded, but when? The question still remains. Required to make proper buildings with all amenities in order to provide better facilities. Everything is available over here.

So what can you expect? Lots of shops, a cinema, a bowling alley and much else. A Spar shop for ladies’ leggings! - very cheap. And very cheap toothpaste!
It’s close to St.Aloysius Chapel which is a must see (easily accessed from the back entrance of the Mall)

Central market suppose to be main business hub of Mangaluru. But due to non maintenance the market looks ugly. Lots of development required. City corporation has to plan for new construction of building, proper parking facilities, proper allocation of shops, cleanliness. This will bring more revenue for corporation and good items for people.

My 11 year old cousin wanted to take chocolates to his class for his birthday. I purchased 2 boxes of Dark chocolate for Rs 260/- ( Each box contains 30 bars of dark chocolate-------- MRP Rs 150/- ).
On enquiry I found out the price for Toblerone chocolate bars ( They sell the whole box at the rate of Rs 65/- per bar)
Other chocolates available are Mars chocolates, snickers chocolates, bounty chocolates, assorted imported chocolates and all the other common chocolates - which can all be bought for very cheap rates compared to the prices in shopping malls.
To find the place , ask the watchman outside CITY MARKET COMPLEX which is OPPOSITE TO CENTRAL MARKET ENTRANCE.
The name of the shop is - Relianse chocolates ( Room number 42 in the City market complex - Block A ) - (There is another chocolate wholesaler - Maria chocolates in Block C)
Directions to City market complex ----- Find Bhavanthi street after reaching Landmark (LADY GOSCHEN HOSPITAL) near STATEBANK

Located in the heart of the city. Too many cars and lorries cause traffic jams. Cleanliness is not maintained, because it is always crowded. Fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry & meat majorly. Lots of other stuff available too

Central market represents the Mangalore city as a whole for the outside public who come to Mangalore either for business purpose or visiting purpose. Even if it portrays the city as big business center, the central market has to raise the rank of mangalore city as clean and neat city. This is possible only if the general public as well as concerned authorities work together to achieve it. Recommend everybody to see this place as you can feel the business pulse of the city

This is a quintessential market. You mainly get fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry & meat. Lot's of other stuff available to, you just have to explore & you will find a shop selling what you are looking for. However beware, the shops are not maintained as hygienically as a supermarket or a mall. Prices are not fixed. You can bargain. Lots of hustle & bustle. Noisy & crowded too.
Traffic & parking are major problems.

This is busy business hub of mangalore, located in the heart of the city. Cleanliness is not maintained, always crowded, too many cars and lorries causing traffic jams.but otherwise you would have a nice shopping experience. You have flower market, fruits market, electronic shops, every thing in same area. Lot of public effort required to keep the area clean
