Very old yet beautiful temple away from the tourist rush
Oct 2021
PRO :

1. Though this temple may not be as famous as Belur or Halebeedu complex, in terms of architectural beauty and intricate work, this place is equal (and in a few ways even better than the others
2. Due to its location and possibly due to the fact it is not very famous this does not have the same level of footfall as a few other temples in this circuit. makes it safe and convenient to visit especially at this time
3. A visit to the temple as opposed to just a structure. This is a live temple that houses 3 dieties (and the main dieties are so intricately and beautifully carved and consecrated)
A very good place to visit if you have a couple hours enroute

Sri Veeranarayana temple
Dec 2020 • Solo
Wonderful temple. Built almost 1000 years back by the Hoysalas, it is surely an architectural marvel. Not much hype around this temple, hence not many tourists come here in comparison to Belur or Halebeedu. In terms of the art work, this temple is even better than Belur or Halebeedu. One must not miss visiting this place. No photography allowed anywhere inside the temple. Parking is na issue here. Entry is fee here. Would surely recommend.

Veeranarayana temple belawadi
Jun 2020 • Family
Beautiful ❤️... It s more admiring than Belur n halebidu. Loved the carving. Must watch place. People go t Belur and halebidu as it s well known. We should make this place too more popular. This s built before those two. And the 108 unique pillar are so beautiful.

Beautiful Hoysala architecture
Mar 2020 • Couples
A beautiful example of Hoysala architecture and art, the temple is situated around 30 kms from Chikmagalur. The statues of Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu are most beautiful statues. This is not a very popular temple as it is situated outside the town, in a small village of Belavadi.

A rare gem to be cherished
Feb 2020
The Hoysala Dynasty had great regard for artists and their craftsmanship. This is very evident from the remains of Bellur and Halebidu. Words fail to describe the mastery and skill of the sculptors. In the same lines of wonder is this temple in the small village of Belavadi. A small board meandering through the village takes you to this lost wonder of divinity and craftsmanship. Open from Sunrise till sunset, it is a must visit. Surrounded by concrete homes, you wonder if our Government can do more to preserve such rare work of beauty. Meditate in peace and reflect on life. Travel back in time and wonder the glorious, magnificent and royal days that this temple must have seen.
