From Chikkamagluru, you have to hire a Auto/Jeep for an entire day and cover places like Z point, Hebbe falls, Kemmungundi hills. Private vehicles are not allowed to go till fall. From a parking place, you will get local Jeep which will take Rs.500 going and return per person. But it is all worth it. That 45minuts of Jeep journey will be adventurous and once you reach Hebbe falls, your all the stress will surely go away.

Not fully done with Covid, so we could only risk limited travel.
We did our shopping at Brand Factory for our trousers to pack for Chikmagalur
We went to Chikmagalur for a week and then rest of the time we spent in Bangalore.
Airavat Bus to Chikmagalur was one hour late to arrive and further late by few more hours before arriving Chikmagalur.
In Chikmagalur we stayed in Mr Murthy's cottage. Mr Murthy organized a car for us to visit several places around Chikmagalur.

On our first day we visited:
* Kallathigiri Falls
First thing in the morning this was our first stop. We had to keep our shoes in a shoe rack and walk down the stairs to the falls. There is a small temple in the vicinity. This temple is sandwiched in the waterfalls. The temple has idols and stone structures.
* Hebbe Falls
This is quite close to Kalathagiri Falls. Our car could take us to the forest range car park from where there was a shared jeep which took us to the falls. Journey ride on a jeep was not so good, as the road to the falls was terrible. Finally our jeep reached close to parking area close to the falls. Then we had walk down to the falls.
* Z Point
* Krishna Rajendra Botanical Garden
* Kemmanagundi peak and view of Kudremukh
Second half of the day, we stopped close to the botanical garden and had our lunch; then visited Z Point and Krishna Rajendra Botanical Garden. On our way back the driver showed us the Kemmanagundi peak and view of Kudremukh

There was a dog in neighbor's house, next to the Mr Murthy's cottage that we stayed in. The dog wasn't looked after well enough, wasn't fed properly, so Princi had to report it to animal welfares.

On our second day we visited.
* Mullayanagiri.
It was quite a difficult place the park the car. Finally the car was parked and we had to walk up the rock cut stairs on the mountain range to reach the tip of Mullayanagiri. Once at the top, we visited a temple inside and there was a cute small cat.

* Jhari Waterfalls
On our way to Baba Budan Giri, our driver stopped for us to visit Jhari Waterfalls. Car was parked and we had to walk through the dense forest to reach some where close to the water falls. It was quite a long walk, while we were followed by a friendly dog with the hope of being fed by us. Walk seemed quite a long way, half way down the road we decided to return back without reaching the Jhari Waterfalls.

* Datta Peeta Baba Budan Giri,
Around noon we reached Baba Budan Giri where we visited Datta Peeta temple within the caves. Then we walked up the mountain to have an excellent view of Baba Budan Giri. We had the option of hiring a jeep to reach Manikyadhara Falls which we decided not to as we had to catch our return bus back to Bangalore.

* Heroklale Lake
As our last destination of the day we visited Heroklale Lake took few pictures, spent a bit of time over there before we quickly headed back to our bus stop to take our Airavat return bus to Bangalore.

In Bangalore we visited:
Tipu Sultan Summer palace
VV Puran Food Street

We visited Hebbe falls during monsoon and were lucky enough to experience it in its full glory.
Need to take a 8km jeep ride through the bumpy forest route and then walk for 1.5km in the woods. The walk is along the water stream while crossing a few bridges and the surroundings are totally picture worthy. The first look of Hebbe falls blew our mind, its a double stacked fall and frothy white water gushing down with tremendous force. People have been swimming in the downstreams, though the water was very cold. Advice to put your phones in a zipbag and enjoy.
Never miss Hebbe Falls while in Chikmagalur, its beauty is difficult to explain in words

We actually discovered the entry to Hebbe falls as a pure chance when we actually set out to go trek at Z point. When we hit the check post of the Bhadra reserve we took a 35-40 min jeep ride (a real bumpy ride - not recommended for the aged) into the reserve. After which we walked for about 1km to get to this natural beauty. The experience was surreal because we were the only ones around. The weather cooperated with us perfectly. The falls was magical and misty...the shower rather refreshing making it all worth it! An absolute must visit!!

Wow what an amazing natural beauty. The best waterfalls in my lifetime i have ever seen. Preserved the natural waterfalls. The waterfalls consists of several decks (visibly three decks). But you need to make a wild Jeep ride with bumps. Suggested not to travel with backpain. Its worth a million to visit this place. A must visit place in Chikkamagalur (around 65km away from the town). A group of 8 members is easy to get one full jeep. The entire Jeep trip of 8 members cost INR 4,000, would take appx 2.30 hours from the Reserve forest entry point.

The falls are majestic and surreal. We reached the parking lot by car and then hired a shared jeep which took ₹500/person. The jeep journey is pretty bumpy and will take around 35 mins to the drop off point. From the drop off point, one needs to walk around 800-900m on a muddy path (we went in monsoon in Aug) full of leeches. After couple of leech bites, we reached the falls which is one of a kind. I felt the hassle to reach this place was worth the view.

1. you need to go to the forest counter and book a jeep which takes u to the trevellor bunglow in the forest from where u start your trek

2. The entire trek take 1 hour up and down.

3. The path was beautiful, rain drizzling, river was in full water and the waterfall was at its glory

They provide jeep to reach here, cost around 700. I visited in July so it was very slippery. If you are a women/ girl there is no changing place if you get wet. It's a beautiful place to visit.
