This place is very sacred as it's the resting place of Baba Budaan and Daata Hayat Kalander. The view from the top is awesome . A great picnic spot .

It was such a beautiful experience to do ‘mountain hopping’ after a long era of being in a ‘city-arrest’ phase during the lockdown! Had been there in the evening and I believe its the best time to visit and see the beautiful sunset amidst the clouds! We parked our car at the entry and trekked to one of the peaks from where one could hop in to adjoining cliffs comfortably(you could also take your car uphill)! A lovely place to be at, it is around an hour’s drive from Chikmagalur town.

Chikamagalore a place worth visiting after the monsoon rains. Baba Budan giri is one of the prime tourist attractions of Chikamagalore. A breath taking view of the green carpet mountains and the blue valley is worth all the travel troubles spend your time here a soul soothing experience. I suggest visit during September and October.

We happens to be there on Diwali. There is a temple which only opens for a day on Diwali. There is plenty of plain hilly area to roam around. we hiked for almost 15-20km. not necessary though, you can take almost any car to the end of the stretch even though there is no tar/rcc road. I think it's best go just after rainy season.
PS: we went there in Kwid,4 person.

Lush greens with the red soil and jagged rocks mark the terrain of this spot. Less crowded than Mullyangiri and has more scope for exploring.
Visit around 7-8 AM on a sunny day and on a foggy day, anytime should be fine however you might not get the same views.

Also, have a very good taxi hire recommendation for Chikmagalur. Calm, good driver and safe to travel with. Girls or families looking to hire a car for local sightseeing or driving back to Bangalore, do get in touch with Premdeep of SN Travels.

A wonderful spot for nature lovers. Surrounded by high hills and deep valley covered by green grass lands.A soul soothing experience.Best time is soon after the monsoon ie. during October and December, after that the green grass lands becomes dry and turns brown due to snow.
